Jordan, I hope you dont mind me jumping in here. I had one of the first Pac Sun Pandora Led/t5's that was released in the states 3 yrs ago and I had the same exact problem as what you are experiencing. I would get some sps and they would initially look great, show some signs of growth and then all of a sudden...little to no pe, dull colors and then stn at the base. For months I tried making minor changes to the tank with hopes that it was something in the chemistry or flow. Finally I decided to move some of my sps into my frag tank that had a cheap 8 bulb t5 fixture on it but still connected to the same system. It didnt take long to see there was a significant difference in the growth and overall health of the sps. I had the 60" fixture and after spending $5k on the light and plenty of money on sps that died, I decided after 12 months of struggles to sell it and make a change back to all t5. I sold if for less than half of what I paid for it. Im not bashing Pac Sun here, there customer service is very good for the most. They will defend their product as any vendor should and say that there are plenty of people using their lights on succesful SPS tanks yet I dont see too many people posting pictures of their tanks. I have no idea what the problem was with the light but as soon as I made the switch all of my corals started bouncing back and looked great up until the day we decided to move and I had to break that system down. I dont know if its too powerful, or something shifts in the spectrum when the user plays with the intesnity of the colors or what. I usually dont make posts like this but when I read your thread and saw the struggles you are having it was like looking at my old system all over again.

Thanks for reply Steve.

Now that my tank has been up for 7 months, I'm going to add a few cheaper pieces of SPS and monitor the results.

I'm slowly ramping up the T5 time to get to 8 hours, while LEDs will be at 10 hrs, slightly less power than I am now, which is 45%.

I hope it works out for you. I have always thought that the issue is related to when I started playing with adjusting the different colors which in turn shifts the spectrum. I was reading a thread today about how when a mh bulb gets old and the spectrum shifts it could be bad for corals and cause tissue damage. Are you running a custom program or are you running Bali?

Tank and house too clean. SPS likes dirtier tank and house :) At least that's what I tell my wife when my fish crap is all over the place. Doesn't work but I try

Things are coming around. From the above pic:

Birds of Paradise - never had a problem doing fine and growing great.
Valida - Struggle a little but not bad, doing well.
Joe the Coral - Was almost completely gone, starting to recover.
Rainbow Acro - Not sure if it'll ever come back, but it's alive.
Purple Cap - faded out big time, recovered well and doing great.
Vivid Red Acro - Poylps have been gone for some time.

RIP: Bubblegum Millie, Rouge Millie, Blue Monster Acro, Red Dragon, Red Planet.
