So many pics in this thread. I wonder if rocks are needed at all? Just lovely corals sitting on the bottom.hmm.

Theese are all different tanks I think. They all have minimal live rock, wich is also a detritus trap. They are japanese bb tanks.

That looks like he is keeping a Chaetodon lunulatus and a Chaetodon Plebius in that tank! How in the world is he able to keep those fish alive and keep his sps corals looking like that?

You are gullable to believe that any of those tanks exist in that condition much longer than it took to snap those pictures or sell other people on pretty colored corals. Mostly for the very reason that you stated. Zen or not, those tanks can't possibly be thriving like that.
