At this point I would guess that it is not contagious. The watermelon colony was pretty far from the blues (about a foot). I think it was just a coincidence that it melted around the same time. I was noticing the polyps shrinking in size before I got the african blues, but they started vanishing almost overnight.
I also have a nice colony of tubbs blues right near where the dieoff was occuring and I haven't lost a single tubbs polyp.
I have the african blues colony in pretty good flow. It is right in front of a powerhead but not getting blasted by it. I also have pretty good flow in my tank with hardly any dead spots. I am unsure of the exact GPH, but I am running 2x hydor 3's and my return is im guessing around 5-600gph in a 90g tank. I have not tried them in a low flow area yet.
