After a long weekend, then CFM, I'm watching the laker game and what do I hear? My screen top going bam and flop flop flop... I look over and and the lineautus is just bouncing around on the top of the bracing. *** so I run over there and I'm looking everywhere for the POS and no where. So I grab a chair and have to lean over my lights, look down into the overflow... and yep he's stuck in the overflow.
Why does this happen right now I tell myself? Can't I just relax? Ok so once I realized that a net wasn't going to work cuz of the durso and return lines it took my about :20 minutes to work up the courage to pull the durso and let him take a ride down the pipes. He's big, so I know this probably wasn't the best of plans but I really couldn't get down in there to get him. So I put a net at the end of both drain outputs, pulled the durso and hoped for the best. After the huge gargel noises I don't see him in my sump... CRAP! Yep his flopping at the bottom of the overflow dangit. I very carefully reached the net in side and picked him up and out.
This is like the 4th or 5th time this idiot has jumped and moved my net, luckily evertime I've been home. I finally took two heavy pieces of acrylic to weigh the net down. Anyone else have this problem? Do you secure the frame/net somehow?
One good thing that came out of this was through all of this I figured out why my drain was so dang loud and noisy... there was a giant turbo snail shell stuck covering about 3/4 of the opening. Between that and drilling the vent hole a little bigger on the cap and its a lot more quiet.
And why does the one fish in my tank that likes to jump was $250? omg
