Casady School Tank Power Outage

Casady has a 180 with fish, a few anemone and VHO's that will be without power for two days (Monday and Tuesday). The principal has gotten approval for a generator while OG&E does what they need to do, but will running the tank with fans be enough during the 100+ temps we have been having? Ice could be floated but I'm thinking that would have to be a lot of ice over 48 hours. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm out of the picture on this one since I just had a redo hurnia repair on Tuesday but am trying to find them a solution.

it will be a tough one, but the fans should certainly hep a great deal. I would remove the canopy to allow a LOT of airflow.

Water flow is going to be the biggest problem. They will need a couple powerheads, or a seio to turn the tank over.

If it has sump, the main pump can be turned off and a small power head added to keep the water flowing.

if the building has No AC it will get very hot in there.

Lights will make it hotter.

I would forget the lights while the AC is out.

I'd agree to that. [Casady was a neighbor of mine---brings back memories of the old house on Erin Place.] Just call it a lengthy solar eclipse. With no light and the fans, should be fine.

Also, the room it is needs to be vented by a fan. as the humidity rises evaporative cooling will slow down and the tank will warm up.

On top of this I would put a couple or more 2 liter bottles full of water into the freezer just incase the temp does rise, one of those bottles would last awhile. I keep two in my deep freeze you never know what may happen at home.
