Check out this tank

or, are getting there, you said it was really starting to pick up. Sorry, should have worded that differently. I get so used to wording things in a non threatening manner, and try to stay nuetral, but every once in a while, it just comes out wrong. I am lovin your work. When you started out were you doin it for friends, or by recomondation from an LFS?

I was lucky enough to have a friend change coureers and hand me several accounts to start it off. I have built it from there. It has been doing well for several years but this year it is really going beyond what I expected. I am at the point that I am turning away new clients and letting go of existing clients in order to take on more profitable ones. I also have a local LFS that doesn't do maintanence and refers me an account now and then. Word of mouth is where almost all my business comes from. I have a small yellow pages ad that gets me a call or two per month but not much in terms of results.

one more thing to add for Cyan0069 is to be totally honest and not get greedy. I am amazed by the number of stories that I hear of people that were grossly overcharged or charged for stuff they didn't recieve (most customers won't know if they get all the parts that they were billed for or not) If it comes back to you, a little bad word of mouth really hurts.

Thanks Scarfish. I started both tanks in Sept of last year. They took three months to be made and sat in my driveway for 3 more months. As far as plumbing, each tank took a couple days. Ffrom when I start working on them until fish go in is usually 2-3 weeks. Then I start to slowly add corals.

Kind of both Gumbybc. I try to keep enough rock around to set up a small set-up (100 gallons or less) If I have a big tank to do, or several small tanks coming up, I buy the rock an let it cure while the tank is being made and while I install it. Usually it works out just right. Yes I do cure it in my shop. This way they can have a running tank with fish and corals asap. Plus I don't like the idea of curing in the tank becuase of all the nitrates that are being produced in the tank. Why not just start with clean water and cured rock. Plus they don't have to wait then.

here is a pic of the cube before it was plumbed

any guess invincible569?

sorry! I was away for a bit. Well it all depends if the tank comes with it.. and the equipment too. Just the tank and furnishings around it.. no less than $8K?

no, for now they just have a 60 gallon softie and lps tank. Hopefully they will eventually put in a bigger tank. The 180 pictured is in the other quarterdeck.

I did some plumbing on the tank today and snapped a couple picures. Here it is with the paper off and the doors on the cabinets. They decided to sell the house so if your looking for an incredible house with an ocean view just steps away from a good surf spot and a nice fish tank let me know:D

Where is the house located? How big is the property? I think we would love to see a picture of the ocean view aswell. Hey....I think I can see the reflection of the ocean on the tank.

Okay, I'm up for buying the house. Will the cost include LR?

Just gotta win the lottery this evening! I'll get back to you.

Gorgeous work on the tank, btw. V. nice work indeed.
