Club election time!

I told Ramiro I would run for president because at the time we had a someone in nomination who had no history with the club. I believe we should have a president with a proven commitment to the organization and a strong dedication to its growth and improvement in order to make the hobby better for us all. Scott certainly fits that description. If Scott would agree to serve, I would be more than happy to step aside and support his candidacy.

I appreciate the confidence you guys have in me. More than I have in myself evidently. I think I am better suited as a worker bee than a leader but I wont take my name off the ballot. On the condition that DrPeaches stays on the ballot also. Let the members decide.

I agree whole heartedly! I made my nominations based on those I had the most experience with and who I thought were good fits for the positions. I really want to see apt people in leadership, but my problem was that there were all sheep and no sheepdog's. People couldn't hold offices for one reason or another and when you have so many step back you have to take anyone you can get. The only other option I could think of was retire the club, or hold an office in name only and if anyone wanted something organized or done then they would have to do it themselves.
Please understand, I'm not bashing anyone in particular and I don't want to sound naggy. I was just dismayed that what I saw as a great opportunity for leadership was slipping through my arms and instead of anyone picking it up off the ground and stepping up, everyone just stood there, looking at the mess and muttering, "that sucks."
I really want great things for the club and I've tried to get things together in a more national level. I hope to see the future leaders of this club take the reins and lead us to new and greater places. I'll be here for help and support, just like Richard, so don't worry about me jumping ship. I'm glad to help out in any way I can.

When do we start the mud-slinging? :)

I certainly hope nothing I said could be construed as mudslinging because that was certainly not the case. I like the direction the club is moving and I want to make sure the progress continues.

It was a joke.
