wow amazing tank thanks for sharing- reminded me for a moment of the film 7 pounds with Will Smith, sad ending but good film.

dont go falling in when cleaning EEk!

Hilarious, I was thinking the exact same thing when I saw this picture.

Peter,
I think a dark aquarium full of jellyfish similar to what is in the Toronto Zoo would be fantastic display in your basement. If you are not familiar with this, I can either post a picture here or send you some offline.

Cheers

Very cool display at the Toronto Zoo. Was there last weekend and forgot about all their fish displays. Their cichlid tank is quite impressive visually.

This is the most beautiful house i've ever seen, the best build thread, and the best looking/build/planned tank I've ever seen. Its VERY impressive. I like the led's I'm in the middle of an led build myself (though ofcourse NO WHERE near what you've built).
You are truly blessed.

Holy Moly, the things that can get done when there is some vision and some deep pockets! Your passion is nearly unrivaled. Kudos to you for sharing with all of us dreamers!

Nice job.

Thanks very much guys. Your support is appreciated. If you haven't yet visited Chingchai's thread recently I would advise you to check out his latest update. It is as close to coral heaven as any of us will ever get!!!!!

Your slide show is awesome and your tank is absolutely gorgeous! Thank you for sharing it.

Just one question, what are these orange curly things?

Thanks!

Corkscrew gorgonian I believe. They are difficult to keep but incredibly satisfying when you can keep them healthy. You have to keep them away from other corals as they lose the battle every time!!!

Peter

I sure hope there is not a ladder test tomorrow as I have not studied!

Not to worry Sara, I'm sure you'll pass with flying colours. Most of the tanks inhabitants, with the exception of the blue spotted jawfish, will be on their best behaviour..........

see you soon....

Your tank is coming along great. That is not a gorgonian but a black coral, Cirrhipathes spiralis. Look at the polyps. All gorgonians have similar polyps (8 tentacles). I believe these have six, and they are structurally different. The branching black corals are one of my favorites but you never see them in the hobby. I think most are protected. If you guys can find a legal source please let me know.

My husband and I had a chance to visit Peter's tank in person yesterday and the pictures do not do it justice ... seeing it in person is a fantastic experience. Thanks to Peter and Judy for their hospitality as we had a wonderful afternoon!

Mr. Wilson,

As hobbyists we all face purchases, freebies or rescue corals that are faded, RTN/STN or just in bad shape in some form. I myself just got several corals from someone in my club who was tearing their tank down. I picked up a superman monti that is faded and just in generally bad shape. The plug is completey covered and it is VERY slowly recovering.

What do you do, recommend or just in general what is your process to help recover these guys when you run across them?
