DanW's 187 SPS Dominated Reef Journal

Friday came early this week! That's a nice matrix. It's on my short list to add in the future but it looks like it grows painfully slow.

Multiple systems is the way to go. Especially with how much automation that many of us use on a daily basis, Murphy is always lurking.

Good to hear and see good progress.

Can we get a nice up to date FTS?

Patrick, I wish I could run multiple systems but my wife would kill me. I just try to disburse my corals to a few friends so if something were to happen I could potentially get a frag back. I just got done pulling out a two large rocks that were encrusted with a sunset & pokerstar monti :uzi:, a large nasuta colony and finally mounted a few frags that I picked up a while ago so I'll try to get a FTS this weekend.

tank is incredible!
Thank you but it still has a long way to go to get to that level.

Nice growth sequence Dan! I'm thinking it's time for a FTS :D.
Thanks Brian, hopefully this weekend.

Toan it grows super slow for me. I have another coral that started as a 1" frag maybe a year after the Matrix that is now starting to grow over the top of it.

Be careful. IME and from others, it is not a coral that likes competition :(

Thanks for the heads up Mark. I will now be fragging (maybe removing) the offending Steve Elias stag this weekend. I can't get that piece to color up anyway.

Is it Friday yet?

I wish!!!

Hello....Is this thing on? Its Friday...

:lol2:
Whoa, the natives are getting restless this week. Mark you may be one of the few that are up earlier than me.

Anyway this weeks pict is of just a baby but I'm super happy with it. Got it as just a bump on a frag plug, so small that I couldn't remove it from the plug to remount it. For a long time I didn't even know if the piece was "real" but finally, after a long wait the pink tips appeared and I think it's at the "blast off" stage :lol2:

Happy Friday everyone!

Chuck, I've frequently lurked in your thread. You have an amazing story/tank and your donation is one of the most incredible things I've heard. Mad props to you sir.

Thanks Dan. I was fortunate to find a place to make the commitment to house my collection of tanks. It would have been a real hassle to part out and sell all of the tanks in the short time I have.
