DanW's 187 SPS Dominated Reef Journal

Ryan, from what I remember reading 0.05 was in the range of what AWT found when they did their PO4 tests of several salt mixes. IIRC the time I tested freshly mixed TMP for PO4 it was around 0.03 - 0.05.

I learn something new in this hobby all the time. I tested my ESV water and got 0.09 Hanna:hmm2: I guess 0.05 isn't so bad after all. I was tempted to let all the new water run through my GFO reactor for awhile in the sump before pumping it back into the display. Apparently I just took the manufactures word of no phosphate.

You're right, I've read many of the comments in the Chemistry Forum from the respected chemist. As far at their Salt Water Mix analysis goes even if the absolute value is off I figure that since they did the same test then relatively speaking the mixes can be judged against each other. (Although who knows from batch to batch and it certainly cannot account for any formula changes post testing.) When I send samples in every 6-8 months or so I look at the results as more of a directional indicator of if I need to investigate a specific issue. I try to revalidate any anomalies by some other means. In the end visually the corals never lie unfortunately they never speak to me to tell me what is wrong!

Thats a long response to read in the morning

Paradoxical isn't it? Trying to target PO4 at < 0.03 and then adding freshly mixed water at higher concentrations :crazy1:

LOL, I read the first sentence of his reply, then stopped...scrolled down to read yours :lmao:

zito zito zito zito zito  :frog:
Is he on "The Clear"? Cause us Dodger fans want the REAL Barry Zito...the one we've come to know and love over the last three years to rejoin the team immediately. You know the one with a > 4.0 ERA and >1.35 WHIP :mad2:

the only thing clear on zito is his pretty-boy complexion and his hollywood groupies :D I have female friends who have more muscles than zito :lmao: zito's curve ball is just sickness this year.

so what happens when the dodgers trade manny? and sorry to hear about ethier!

I don't think that they are going to trade Manny and yeah, Ethier's broken finger is gonna hurt :hmm2: I'm holding out hope that we get Oswalt but with the McCourt divorce situation, chances are slim.

Little out of focus but this guy is hard to shoot

Looks great Dan. I can only hope my OT gets that nice.

Still looking for my bali tri-color, but I know I will find it soon.

Thanks for sharing

Giants lose to SD....again. As long as we don't play any SCAL teams, we are fine :sad1:
Eh, the Pads pitching can't hold up over the entire season, I don't expect them to be there at the end. Similar to SF they don't have enough hitting but the big difference is that their pitching is not even close to the Giants.

Thank you for the complement. I'm sure that you'll get your OT there and pick up the BTC soon :D
