DanW's 187 SPS Dominated Reef Journal

No "Happy Friday" picture this week??? I was looking forward to it, preferably a coral.

+1 we need a Happy Friday picture! :D

Sorry fellas, my bad. I've been busy with work and school year end stuff with the kids. I haven't gotten the camera out lately but I'm going to Leo's photo class at Richard's house today. Hopefully I'll learn how to use the camera (and pick up a few new subjects while I'm there).

I'll see you there. I am just gonna hang out though and I'll have my kids with me :)
Sorry Kenny, I didn't see your post until this evening but it was nice seeing you and the kids today. Seems like they've grown since they were here last. Sorry we didn't have more time to chew the fat I am going to try to make it back out for Richard's frag swap later next month.

After the photoclass (thanks again Leo & Richard) I thought that I post an updated FTS. Noticed a little recession on a few pieces since I turned the kalk reactor back on, so it was turned off again on Sunday. It's always something...anyway...

Tank tooks great Dan

Thanks Mark. Hate to say this but I can't wait till the World Cup is done so you can start to post pictures again :o

Looking real good. Is the Palmers Blue gone?

Thanks Ryan. I removed the Palmers a while ago, couldn't get the color I wanted out of it so out it went :fun2:

The sand is so clean..........
Don't know why, I never touch it. It may be it's the small army of narcissus snails that I have

Strange you get no coraline algae on your rocks, only under the sand bed

BTW Dan, EXCELLENT exposure! Everything is nice and clear, no blurriness on the fish. SUPER AWESOME!

It's also handy to have black background that's clean!

Leo, I actually get very little coraline algae growth. Some on my glass that I scrape ever few weeks. I think that is mostly cyno under the sand (some coraline). I don't know why either.

Thanks man. I was trying a bunch of different combos (f-stop & ISO) last night in appature priority mode. Your class was super informative, now my wife wants lessons.

Come over sometime and trade me sapphire millie for something I don't have.

LOL - now you can teach your wife fish photography too! Seriously, if she wants to learn other types of photography, let me know
