I thought there was a rule that you had to have 2 months and over 50 posts to sell and request things? Is that true or am I going crazy?

Austin, there are no rules in place for lf threads. These folks aren't breaking any rules, but maybe just need a whack from the "etiquette stick!" Heck I could use one as well sometimes though.

50 meaningful posts and a member for 90 days to sell,its never been clear to me weather you cant post a wtb thread or weather you plain cant buy.

Honestly Steve, it doesnt rub you the wrong way that someone's first post or thread is "I need this, this and this" ?
Dont get me wrong, I think our club forum is a great venue to find some nice deals when youre just beginning or anytime for that matter. I think it just would be nice to mingle a bit and partake in some discussions before posting things you need.
Am I being ridiculous?

I dont think anyone is arguing the rules at all I do a ton of buying and selling and I think its a great place for it. But has anyone noticed these people "only" post wtb and think its a way around the 50/90 rule? Take a fast look at their post every single one is wtb or getting threads closed for selling

That was my complaint. " I am new here, stalking this board for months, I am looking for a fully reef ready 120g with stand skimmer rimless, lets see what you got" . That totally rubs me the wrong way when you are on post 2. I don't know why it does.

I just find the specificity so odd. I certainly wouldn't want to discourage anyone from hanging around URS. It just seems so weird that people WTB something so they ask here. Ever heard of eBay or online vendors? We are what 100-200 people? The odds of us having some specific item on a shelf just waiting for some WTB thread to jog our memory...." oh yeah....it just so happens I DO have an MP 40 laying around! Sell it? Why didn't I think of that?!?", it's just weird and myopic.

I am thinking this thread is starting to sound like a bunch of upset old ladies lol ( I think I am the leader well I hope lol) maybe we should just black list them lol although rc says they can do it just dont answer unless they are looking for land in Florida I have tons of that for sale haha

Justin no,I dont think your being rediculous nor do I disagree with Eastam"s main point.I do think a newbie with good natured intentions that came across this thread might not see it that way though.
Just seems harsh on all newbies or anyone with a low post count when the forum rules are not defined to that degree.
I have noticed a change in the forum over the past year,and Ive also had dealings with some shady characters,but I'd still give people the benefit of the doubt and opportunity to trade ,toss a frag or two without any worry of having to isolate myself to some small group.But, again I can understand why some are choosing to do so and not judging.
The rest of whatever comments I made in this thread about luminol or whatever are all just my attempt at lame humor as was the "you guys dont know the forum rules comment".Nothing personal fellas.:beer:
