Fairly new, need feedback

I want attention too! I put it in the Nano forum with little feedback. Just wondering what you guys think over here.

After a few years in storage, I decided to bring it back to life. About 4 months in operation now.

24g Nano Cube / 150w MH 14k HQI bulb / little oceanic skimmer for now, aqua c remero on the way.

The green and orange are mushroom corals that are healthy. One or two zoos are open, but the rest of them are closed right now... sorta seasonal, seem healthy, just not open.

Feel free to comment!

I added some open brain coral, closed brain coral, and some more frogspawn last night. They were settling and relaxing so they weren't very vibrant. hope they are doing ok, and will post up pics tonight possibly.

Hey Mort, for whatever reason, I cannot view the pics. I have the same oceanic skimmer and have had no problems with it thus far. It seems to be working nicely.

Your lighting on the nano cube is certainly better than my stocks on the biocube, so I'm thinking you're doing fine.

I'm not 100% sure what your actual question was, or if you were just looking for feedback!

Good luck!

Pics are from imageshack.us I can see them, can anyone else not???

Yup, just sorta looking to see what people thought, really no specific question, showing off, attention whoring :D

I like cube tanks, and a 24 should be a lot of fun. My own preference would be to redo the aquascaping to give a more natural appearance, something like a coral head on the sand as opposed to the squared-off structure you have. As it is, however, you have a lot of nice surfaces for future corals.

Soooo....

I was so proud of my good work. On Monday, I got three new pieces of coral. Acclimated them to my water, placed them. Let them settle for an hour, then fed my livestock, corals and fish. I think I overfed :(

Woke up and noticed the water was a bit cloudy. Came home yesterday and it was indeed cloudy and there is one clown missing.

Boo-boo number 1. Overfed blossoming a bacteria colony.

Possible 50% water change tonight... gotta get advice from some to make sure that's a good idea.

I'm not sure what's up, but I still cannot see the photo's as mentioned above. I'm sure it's being blocked here at my office.

Hmm...as most people always indeed say, the solution to pollution is dillution! So, I would say do the water change if you're unsure.

What color cloudy is it? Did you dose anything to the tank?

I think you need more live rock... i like the purple but definetly more live rock and/or more coral frags to fill in the blank spaces... it is a reef tank no?

limit water change to 30%.
are you testing your alkalinity? That would be one major thing to track when your zoas close; also affects other chemistry. s/b 8.3-9.3.
Be sure and match salinity AND alk when introducing new coral.
