Giesemann Lighting Club.

The light you have is the best combination you will find, by far. T5/halide combo is tge bees knees. If your growth is lacking, you need to look at your water quality.

My guess is that your growth is pretty typical, especially if you have mosrly frags. It can taje months to a year for some frafs to take off.

Take pictures. You look at your tank everyday. You don't notice small changes day to day and thus, your coral don't appear to be changing.

Thanks Kevin,

I didn't mean to sound like I was complaining about the Metal Halide growth over my display. I wasn't, I was only trying to say that over my frag setup I cannot use multiple types of lighting. My options are limited to all t5s, a single 250w metal halide bulb, or leds. It has more to do with electricity than anything else.

My current fixture pulls 96w in t5 and 330w in metal halide so nearly 425-450w by itself. My circuit is a 20 amp circuit but there are other things on it besides my tank. When I look at upgrading the electrical because I run Bussmann fuses on my house still it would cost me 3-4 grand just to switch from fuses to breakers and another thousand or two to rewire the tank room. I am just looking for a cheaper method for now until I can afford the electrical work on the house.

Chris,

What is the max spread of the new Giesemann Vervve? I am looking for a light to go over my 30"x20"x8" frag tank.

I currently use the Giesemann Spectra with Radium on M80 and 2 blue+, 2 actinic for supplement. I really love the color I get with and without halide. The corals look amazing at all times. However, I need a light that will give me both growth and some color. I can give up a bit of color for some growth if need be. If I go with metal halide it will be a stand alone bulb and not supplemented.

Should I be looking at LEDs, strictly t5s, or metal halide to fit this demand?

The Giesemann Vervve will profore well on your cube.

Because on the website it shows a 15" (40 cm) spread for the Vervve - not quite sure what to make of it...

Looks that way according to this image also...

80cmx60cm

That means my tank would require 3 for 72" aquarium.
Wonder if that means one master and two slaves.

Been loving my Giesemann Matrixx and wanted to try this fixture. Been pushing the limit on my breakers and I am upgrading to a larger tank again.

This fixture looks like the nicest out there still and is inline in pricing with other high-end led fixtures.
But holy cow led is still not economical for large tanks. Hard to make up that kind of money in energy savings.

How do you get that...?

40 cm = 15 inches.

The "graph" shows anything at a 14" wide x 15" long radius gets 0-50 PAR.

So anything out of the 15" radius would get virtually no PAR.

Correct?

That is 40cm from the middle out one way and 40cm from the middle out the other way so 80cm total.. Starts at 0 in the middle and goes 40 cm north and and another 40 cm south on the picture. The whole box is 80cm x 80cm.

Par will also be dependent on height mounted. Lowering the fixture will increase par but will make the area covered less.

It does not say the height in the picture but I am guessing 30 inches by the Giesemann site.

LOL, I am just going to go hang my head...

How on Earth could I have missed that...

Thanks!

I am REALLY interested in this light...

I wish someone, BRS? :), would do a comparison between this light and the EcoTech XR30w Pro.

I like that the Vervve has polished reflectors and a glass shield to protect the lights - the Radion doesn't.

The Vervee also has 56 LEDs - where the Radion has 42.

But then the Radion can be controlled by the Apex - which is nice also.

They are siliconed down. I took a couple off a few weeks back to replace with ATI ballasts and LEDs. :D

Get a breadknife or a thin chisel underneath. The silicone holds pretty tight so some force is needed.

It took me a couple of weeks to get it off as well. hahahah. That silicone sticks good!!

How is your heat from the ATI ballast?

Hey there! I could use a little help regarding my bulb combo. I have a 6 bulb giesmann t5 fixture with these Bulls:

3 x Giesemann Powerchrome - aquablue coral - blau 54 W
2 x Giesemann Powerchrome - super actinic - 421 nm aktinisch 54 W
1 x Giesemann Powerchrome - super purple - weißviolett 54 W

The light is a bit too White/ red for my taste and I would like some ideas to make the light a bit more bluish, if that males sense? Without loosing too much PAR.

How high should I hang my 24" Infiniti over a 20" deep tank? I'm sitting at11" above the water now.

That is not a bad height. Another couple of inches can work too. It allows for more spread. But also potential for light spillage if you have an open top.

1st time Geisemann!!

1st time Geisemann!!

Just received my 72" Geisemann Infiniti! This fixture is truly beautiful! Cannot wait to get this thing going with my new 245g upgrade.
