That's interesting...how does a UV benifit the Nems?!?

Part of the natural light spectrum right, higher energy, have a feeling it helps the Nems photosynthesis process.
I've noticed my Crispa tan fairly quickly compared to others, UV is a huge part of at depth. Even the clowns get a great tan when transferred to the display tank.
Here's a pic of my mag. Randomly I noticed it deflated and a day after that it wouldn't attach to any rocks. Would just slump over and fall to the sand. In fear it would get sucked up by a powerhead I treated with the help from D-nak

First two pics are when I first noticed. Last pic is where it stands today, double the size
Sorry for the off colors. iPhone pics.
There is some confusion here. A uv unit will be run in line and that light will NEVER see the anemone. As you say it will only kill bacteria in the water column if it is dailed in correctly. IE correct uv wattage to flow rate through the unit.
LOL. Yeah, in line UV sterilizer if strong enough, proper flow, etc can keep can kill bacteria in the water to some extent. It won't effect the Nem if its already sick, may prevent bacteria spread. I'm not really sure how effective it really is, I've heard most large commercial operations like DD use them. Snorvich and others can answer the question better than I can.
UV sterilizer is effective in preventing infection from spreading from one fish/animal to another. For your mags, if there is an infection, the UV sterilizer wouldn't cure that, you would need antibiotics. As far as spreading infection from a sick anemone to a healthy one, there it may make a difference.
Wow, I need to really research this. Very interesting.
A while back I spoke to a marine biologist who swore by them. He helped maintain and setup commercial tanks.
If I did get one, it would be a big one. I would try to get like 3x the recommended for a 90/G.
New update of your mag? How it is doing?
