Heteractis Magnifica Propagation- 30 minutes ago in my kitchen!

:facepalm::facepalm:

Well guys...I apologize. I just came home to a freak accident. I don't know how, but my MJ 1200 flipped around and apparently one of the Mags had moved last night and got up on the eggcrate and got sucked into the intake. I came home to a cloudy tank with no flow. I have no idea how long it had been because I spent the night with my girlfriend last night. Both are fighting for their life's now. Both are completely deflated and limp. Just did a 100% WC and dosed. I'll update with more pics tomorrow. Maybe I can save them. It's gonna be tough. I'm fixing the intake of the MJ so this will never happen again. Sorry guys.

Look at the other in the back ground.

:facepalm::facepalm:

Ima try to save em...:uhoh2:

Well, I fixed the problem. Never worried about it because I always had the intake facing the back of the tank. They put out some much flow for such a small pump that it flipped around. It's just crazy that it managed to have enough suction to catch him through the eggcrate. Not to mention, he had to be at the right place at the right time. Just a freak accident. Ohh well...I'm continually learning. Won't happen again, I can promise you that.

:sad1::sad1::headwally:

Wow that's rough man, hope it doesn't mess up the results of a what could be successful propagation.

Also a Maldives Mag going up on LA today >.> I don't have the cash to grab it today... :)

Oh man looks like u have a crazy anemone. Probably got jealous u spent the night with your gf instead of taking care of it and jumped in to the pump to scare u lol! Jk, hope it pulls through and good luck!

I should of bought it.... :thumbdown

Yeah sucks, they're are actually doing simi ok right now.

I'm glad you didn't buy that mag. He's got a pretty color, but tip color is weak and the tips are pointed...looks kinda weird.

I agree, have you ever seen a blue mag tentacle mag? I think a blue mag would be on my bucket list

Well, here is the bad news.

Got the post trauma victim to inflate, but now he won't deflate.

They other won't inflate, but I think I can perk him up. The cloudy water without flow took a toll on him.

As far as the inflated trauma victim, I would rather he been inflated with fresh water than deflated. So he can stay like that all day.

Wow, this reads like a novel. Best of luck with the mags. I've never been courageous enough to propagate one--not that I want any new ones. I'm intrigued by your multiple tank setup. You could charge admission fees if you keep going, you will have your own public aquarium ; )

Last 2 picts does not look good. i cannot tell which is the foot, which is the column. Best of luck.

Yeah, at this point, I'm more worried about the one that didn't get chewed up in the PH. When they deflate is when you will have big problems.

I just started Septra, gonna run both antibiotics for 24 hours and see what kind of response I get.

I can tell you this. Teasing the Mags with light helps them. If you run the light constantly, it doesn't seem to work as well. What I mean by tease is run the light for 30 minutes to and hour and off 30 minutes to an hour. I'm hooking up the light to my apex so that tonight it will run that schedual all night long. It forces the NEM to respond. It will make him inflate and deflate. Perk up and drop down. Keeps them moving. Same thing with flow. They really like high flow.
