history of lunar's reef

Hi Krysztof, will there be a time in the future where your website will be in English and will there ever be a possibilty that you will ship corals to the UK?

Hi, Krzysztof
Did you return to your old t5 combination of Aqua Science & FM Ultra Royal Blue or you are using something new?

Stoyan

I'm using FM Ultra Royal blue and ATI with Giesemann tubes because of better availability instead of Aqua Science.

Only T5 tubes for now. Why? Leds are good as a night light but sps don't like such source of light in my opinion. I saw a difference in colour of my acropora when I had ATI hybrid and ATI with only T5 tubes. I love shimmers of led's but ...

Finally, I've read all the thread... Only one emotion - WOW! STUNNING!

But, please, could you answer this questions (not mentioned above):

1. What is your skimming process in detail? Do you skim 24/7 or you turned it off while feeding or adding supplements or bacteria? How long it is off in this case before turned back to work?

2. What schedule of testing parameters you use? When (precisely time - morning/evening) you do it, how often? Do you do anything in aquarium right after testing or you wait sometime to think or to do re-test?

And what testing schedule you could advice to new tanks? To check all the parameter everyday or once a week and etc.

3. Do you use direct feeding of corals or broadcast?

Thank you for response!

Thanks alot, Dmitry :)

1/ My skimmer works continuously, even during feeding, adding something, etc. What is the point of turning a skimmer off if it stops working itself then?
2/ I conduct the water tests usually in the morning because I have more time then. The tests for kh and ca every 3 or 4 days, for mg once every two weeks. For a new tank I'd advice to check nitrates as well.
3/ I don't like to feed my corals with dosers, I always do it manually.

+1 would like to know. :)

Sorry, currently it's not possible, maybe in the future?

lunar i have a question because I'm currently running Zeo and slowly adding Stones every 6 weeks on my establish tank. I run stones, zeostart and zebak right now, how do u get Dark metallic colors instead of pastel?

Krzysztof; can you please let us know what foods you feed the tank? How often? And is it possible to show how much you feed to give an idea? Thanks.

I'm not running Zeo but all in one biopellets. Do you feed your corals, add aminoacids?

I use 5ml Salifert coral food, 5ml Knop Koralvit F and a pinch of Reef pearls from Reef interests, mix all ingredients and pour into my tank at night twice per week. However, if my corals are getting darker, I decrease frequency. My feeding schedule isn't constant, it depends on look of my corals.

Amazing Krzysztof, just amazing. I appreciate the time you spend here very much, thank you! I have improved my own reefs quite a bit by using some of what you do as a guideline for my own tanks. The all-in-one biopellets especially have been such a great find, and after much resistance, my LFS changed over to them and has never been happier too!

Krzysztof, thank you for your answer.

Have some more questions[emoji39] please..

1) What amino acids do you use now, how? (Schedule, amount)
2) What do you think about filter socks 200micron in the main line? (Socks-pellets-Skimmer)? Would it give even better filtration or do think it is too much...

Thank you!)

Wow, latest FTS looks amazing. Love the popping colours. You have amazing skill when it comes to having a keen eye for your corals and getting them coloured up.

Can you also share currently, what you feed the fish and how much you feeding? Do you still prepare the seafood mix? Last info I found on this was from 2011:

I feed my fish and corals on varied frozen foods, Cyclop -Eeze, Spirulina, Nori, Reef Pearls, sometimes I prepare my special food for corals (shrimps, oysters, mussels, etc. blended and mixed e.g. with Cyclop-Eeeze or FM products like Ultra clam, Ultra seafan, Ultra min)

Many thanks for answering my questions as well as others. You are a true reefkeeper and hobbyist at heart; despite have a shop to take care of, you share your tank and take time to answer our questions.

Because of replacing all the rocks and having BB I added amino acids every day for a month or a bit longer - I can't remember exactly. When I found out that my corals were in a good condition I reduced the doses (20ml for my tank) to once or twice per week. I use Salifert coralline aminoacids.

You can use a sock before a biopellets reactor to prevent detritus get into reactor. However I prefer keeping a sock after the reactor to catch particles of pellets, so: pellets-sock-skimmer

Wow the tank is so colorful!!!

Thanks, I'm happy you like it.

Wow just amazing everytime i see your tank.

Thank you, hope it will continue to be so :)

Thank you, sahin, it's really means a lot to me.

I feed fish twice a day: frozen mysis, krill, artemia, shrimp, mussel enriched with Fauna marin Ultra food energizer. Sometimes I give also Omega one flakes.
For corals I still prepare seafood but less often than I would. You know, it's easier to use a finished produkt :-(

Could anyone explain why the last comment disappeared from my thread? I saw it this morning, it was Jonathan 1992.
