greyfis1 actually quoted the price of $492. i checked with the vendor and the number is good if we come up with 12 units of the 1/4hp.

One question before I pay. Where are we to pick up? I live in Oxnard so I'm aways. I mite be going that way soon for some frags. It depends on if Toan finds another buyer before I drive down there. Roughly how much to ship? I believe my friend is in, I'll know tomorrow. On my 90g now I need to drop my temps about 5, without fan on a hot day. Fan brings me down roughly 3. Is a 1/5hp enough? On thier rating it says upto 180g. But I guess that depends on load.

I don't know what my pumps put out as heat goes. My 400w mh isn't that much of a factor, it only adds 2-3 degree. My main problem is Grandma likes it hot. 82+ is fine to her and she doesn't like the doors open. She is home all day with my little one so she's not all bad.

Just a personal observation to share with you all. I have a 120 gallon reef tank with 140 gallons total volume including my sump. I have Tunze and Eheim pumps in my system plus 500 Watts of Metal Halide lighting.

I purchased a 1/4 HP JBJ chiller from Marine Depot. I hooked it up last night. It chilled my water from 84F to 76F in about 30 minutes. I now realize I would have been fine with a 1/5 HP even though JBJ's online calculator recommended a 1/4 HP.

And the 1/4 HP is loud. The others may be also, I don't know.

Just my personal experience.
