Hutch's 280 Gallon SPS Build

Nice build keep it comein with the pics. I like the way you have your sump, I wish I could convince people that a fishroom should be larger than the master bath.

Wow so clean!

The tank looks very nice!!

Nice tank

it's huge and nice !

I like your aquascape, and the rest for that matter  great job!

Thank you all, I appreciate the comments. Have a great Labor Day!

Great build thread, I'm in the process of building a 275g tank and you have given me lots of good ideas.

Will keep following

BTW, I would already have a bed at my office with a tank like this :)

What are the dimentions on this tank? arent 4 vortechs overkill? or just enough? i want some for my 240 but dont know how many to get

WOW! Fantastic so far!

72 x 36 x 25

In my opinion, 4 vortechs are just right. I am running them on 100% throughout the day as the Neptune Apex runs my custom program. At night I take them to 50%.

I am always too late to catch the tank with the lights on. You should move to the west coast so I can watch easier. :)

Sorry, here is the lighting schedule: (all in EST)

6:00 AM Back T5's
7:00 AM Front T5's come on
8:00 AM 3 x 400 Halides come on
3:00 PM Halides off
4:00 PM Front T5's off
5:00 PM Back T5's off

The camera struggles when all the halides are on, but you can still see what's going on.

Hope this helps.

Okay thanks... I was starting to think that the video was just on a dark fuzzy loop... I will test out the new times tomorrow.

No, those two RO membranes are in parallel and are 75 gallons per day each, allowing the system to spit out 150 gallons per day, or about 6 gallons per hour.

thanks cshutchinson,
you make a great job,i don´t have po4 in water outlet of my RO,you think that i need to use GFO in canister too??thanks.
