I got a fever! bowhunter support group needed!

Nada this am for me. I'm on the bench until Friday. Planning an all day sit if I can swing it. Bucks ought to be on their feet by then. I got some fresh estrous from Jim Montenero at Empire Game Calls in Liverpool. He gets it right from a local whitetail farm. I sprayed down my area pretty well. Hoping that gets them on their feet by Friday.
 
Had a 4 pt and a couple big does. Made my mind up to take the second doe as she walked into an opening when the first one decided to change course. She never gave me the option. Had the first one good clean broadside at 15 yds. Should've taken her.
 
I literally JUST jumped 2 does in my BACK YARD while walking out back to practice shooting. I swear someone somewhere is laughing in my face....OK, maybe everybody. My shooting confidence is at an all time low. Target panic has set in. Not good.

I'm off Thurs-Sun. May sit some other small spots and let my one good spot perculate. That one big day could be any day now, when ALL the bucks are up and moving. Gotta be in the woods that day!
 
I'm going to try some state lands pretty soon. Probably howlands island or montezuma state land. All I had this morning was deer running out of the area as I was walking in. I've still got 5 more days off. Plan to sit all day Friday.
 
I'll be out all day Sunday I think. I've got some trail cam pictures of two 6 points. One of them may even be an 8.
 
Had a doe coming in for what looked to be a great 20 yd broadside shot this morning. Then the farmer turned the bush hog on his tractor on. She picked her head up and decided she didn't want to go that way. I'm planning on sitting all day tomorrow.
 
Im going out in the morning,definately heating up around here ,huge fresh scrape and a cedar rubbed pretty good.I'm sure it was done over the past 2 nights.

Stayed out of my stand since botching things up the other day but Im kinda glad it happened now.I was just going to give in and take a doe.Im going to wait it out now,atleast through this weekend.

Got a new whisker biscuit, its the wrong size. Too tight.

Got some lighted nocks, already lost one in the woods behind my house because now I've developed a little target panic.

Wanted to hunt this am but got called in to work at 2am and was there until 5. No am hunt for this guy.

Maybe I should find a more mild mannered past time. Fish tanks perhaps......

My trail cam is set up in a good spot to catch a bunch of different animals. The area I hunt has many ravines, all going the same direction, coming off the side of the hill. It is down near Bristol Mountain. The ravine that the trail cam is pointed at is one of the steeper ones, so animals cross at the base of the hill/ravine, so they don't have to cross it higher. The times are all screwed up on the pictures. I didn't realize the time was off until after I went off and checked them.

Those are the first deer I've seen from a tree in about a week. I hate morning hunts. Never know when to call it.
 
I'm outty @1030. Gonna warm up for the weekend too. Might head out again tonight but I don't see any sign of a deer even coming through here since Monday. Bummin.

Nice shots,looks like a great area.Good luck ,hope you get one of them.

Heading back to my main stand for the evening hunt.Ran a series of sent wicks about every 20feet along a well used trail cross wind of my stand with a boot drag laced with doe estrous.Mock scrape in place at the end ,where I hope to get a shot.

Funny,from my back slider I watched some does checking out the area.One of them actually kept coming back and must have walked past my stand 5 times.

Dont know what will happen but for some reason I got a good feeling about the evening hunt.

letting my "good" area rest until sunday. probably heading out to my spot in cato tomorrow morning. unfortunately couple of kids birthday parties saturday and sunday afternoon. need a good excuse. guys?
