I-Tech Skimmer Club .

Yeah, I was just curious.

Per the man himself from awhile back when I asked about the 100 "Water depth should be between 6.75 - 7"."

Mine seems to like the deeper end of this range but I think bioload plays a part and historically mine has been very low.

For those out there that are experiencing any reduction performance..cleaning salt build up out of the venturi right where the narrow grey PVC piece attached to the vinyl tube that supplies the air will make a difference.

I have an Itech 200 , it currently sitting in 8 inches of water is this ok? Should I raise it up to so it is in 6"?

We have a 200 as well. It's in 7" of water and skimmed like a beast.
Until just recently....
Now it just goes nuts and overflows. I've checked the air line, venturi, and raised it a inch, and still not working. Not sure what's causing it.

Just joined the I-Tech skimmer club this week!

MX174 Welcome to the club. I have the 200 model.

Thanks moondoggy! I live in Tampa and this is a popular skimmer around these parts. Fish and other Ichty stuff is just down the road too and the owner John is a good guy to work with. I picked this one up slightly used.

I have a 150 (the 100 with the internal pump). I don't have pictures but it's a superb skimmer. Looks just like the 100.

I have a itech 100 is the guy that built these have any contact info for parts & ?s

My understanding is that many components that make up the skimmer body are not available at this time. I handle mine with extra care because of this. The pumps for the 100 are still available from Tunze. If you are looking for something specific, contact John directly and he will let you know what is available.

I love my i-Tech 100 but this really makes me wish I would have went with a different brand (ATB). If anything happens to my skimmer I am SOL.

Yeah, that's the risk you take when going w a really small shop. I don't know if John is serious about making skimmers again and I also wonder if he would tweak new models and forego making parts on older models that might not be compatible w the newer versions. Hard to say.

Planning 187 g or 225 g mixed reef

Planning 187 g or 225 g mixed reef

I am breaking down my 120 in wall to move to a new house. I am contemplating taking my i-tech 200 with Tunze. The thing has worked great once I tossed the siche. The plan is to build a 187 g or 225 in wall mixed reef in a year or so. I will probably do a 24" by 5' or 6' by 30" hex sticking 6" out of the wall, I wander if the i-tech 200 will handle a 300 g mixed reef system.

Thoughts.....

I know some time has passed since John was producing i-Tech skimmers, however, he has been responsive and helpful whenever I've had questions about the 100 I picked up from another reefer awhile back. I talked with him about buying new when he was still making them and then a good deal came up and I grabbed one that had only been used about 3 months, Tunze internal pump 100 model which is exactly what I wanted. I love this skimmer, best one I've ever owned and at the price point John was offering them, these skimmers were a great product made right here in the USA.

Roger at Tunze is also very responsive and helpful when you have any questions about the Tunze pumps that were used on these skimmers.

I have not needed to reach out with any questions lately but if folks are wondering if John is considering a return to skimmer productions, you can reach him at Fish and Other Icthy Stuff down in Florida. It has been months since we exchanged e:mail and at that time he was still considering making skimmers but was having a hard time finding a supplier of the components used to build them at a reasonable price point. My understanding is that his previous supplier was a casualty of the economic downturn.

I'd post the website link to his retail store in Florida here but I'm not sure if that is frowned upon. Just Google it.

Mine stopped making bubbles. It's only a year old. I found that the orange fittings inside the pump are cracked? How can I get these? Who do I contact? I need help asap!
