I vary my water change location. I drain water from three different locations;
Main display, or Refug, or Sump. Last week it was from the MDT

No, I have conchs that do a wonderful job sifting through the sand.

I do blow off the corals with MJ powerhead, then drain the water.

Latest update for the Calcium Reactor

Just ordered Electronic CarbonDoser Regulator (with 8 digit LCD Counter) and check Valve. Wahoooo!

With an LCD 8 digit resettable counter (has "backup" battery, will not lose it's count), no more counting bubbles!

Currently I'm still dosing 2 part 700ml/day!

Luckily, I make my own Ca and Alk. My cost analysis for the Ca is $5.89/month
That's 1 gal every 5.44 days.
32 lbs Smart ReefTM +Calc should last me (that is I don't give any out :fish1: ) 10.5 months! Quite cost effective huh? I just hate making it every couple of weeks ( I make 2 or 3 gals at a time)

It would be interesting to see a cost comparison between 2-part and CaRX once you have it installed and dialed in.

Reactor's initial cost is high ~ $1,200, we'll see how long the merdia lasts.
