Isla Escondido - invincible569's Rimless 300g

Probably 4-5 months now. I painted all my previous tanks, but I'm really happy with the way the vinyl turned out on this one.

Oceanvisions is the brand of vinyl I used. I picked up a window tint install kit at HD and sprayed the back with the solution and used a special plastic scraper to sqeegie out the bubbles. Then trimmed the edges with a fresh razor blade. I will never paint the back of a tank again. I was done in 15 minutes.

Thats exactly right. I forgot about the plastic scraper they used to get all the bubbles out.

Chibo, are you asking for the price of the AGE tank itself or the entire system?

I did vinyl on my tank as well. I do know that after time and if any water gets on the paint, it will bubble and chip. :(

If you don't want to go to HD, you can use Windex, a credit card and a sponge. Don't be shy with the Windex, and use the sponge and credit card to scrape out the bubbles. It sets and sticks amazingly quickly.

I used to work w/ stuff like this and you can use dishsoap and water in a spray bottle. If you do end up w/ a bubble you can't get out you can pop it w/ a sharp point and work the air out.

We used a hot air gun but that was mainly to work the vinyl into the skrim (?spelling) of the fabric. I would'nt think you would need it on glass/acrylic. but I'm no expert w/ the stuff. Like I said I worked w/ it years ago.

That's exactly how I did it.

it pretty simple using automotive tint films or vinyl stickers, mix 5 drops of palmolive soap and water in 32 oz spray bottle. spray alot of mix water on surface keeping it wet at all times and same goes for tint film or vinyl sticker. this makes it very easy for the films to slide around. you always want to start in the middle and work your way to outside. using a rubber squeegee is very important. credit card can be used but the surface will probably get scratches.

Im sure this may have been covered, but this thread is SO huge.... Where did you get your bracket for hanging the light fixture? My best option is going to be to use a tall bracket like you used, hanging off the back of my tank.

Hey guys sorry for the late responses lately. Going through some life changes right now. Tank is doing extremely well.

I do have sand in it now and need to take updated pictures. Corals have grown out in my SPS rock thats for sure.

Sad to hear that but one must have priorities.... will be sad to see it goes and hopefully it gets a good owner

Good luck in your future business and wish you success....
