Italian Tank of the month (year maybe) - PICS intense

I guess I have to agree and disagree with whats said.

Definatly a beautiful looking tank with some wonderfull coloring and growth.

It's just overcrowded though for MY tatse. I like the more open look.

But still a very stunning tank.

Amazing tank.
I personally prefer more open space tanks(like Steve Weast's) because it appears more natural.

What ever floats your boat I guess :D

hold on...all of your tanks DONT look like this...psssh.
j/k, that tank is amazing. Seems like alot of fish too. Amazing work.
I was considering running on only MH"s and nothing else, but was unsure as to how it would turn out cause I havent seen anyone else do it. But it seems wicked, so now Im on board, lol.

happy reefin'

Interesting read, that translated article. I couldn't agree more with sentiments such as this:

"I do not believe that a painter from deep of its I, from the farsightedness of its fantasy, could recreate a perfect harmony of colors therefore, shining and spectacular."

Beautiful tank by the way.

I have to disagree with some people saying this tank, and other like it are not natural looking.

Have you ever looked at a 6'x2'x2' section of a coral reef? It looks just like this tank. Nothing but coral. A reef crest does not have big open space with sand beds.

Are we trying to replicate a small piece of the reef or the whole ocean? If the latter is the case, I want to see a tank, with an outer reef slope, a reef crest, a protected inner reef, a shallow lagoon, a mangrove habitat, .... High and low tide, etc etc etc.....

Great tank BTW!

I have a feeling it probably started out "open" but became "unopen". The only thing to do is get a bigger tank or make a couple thousand in frags selling!

What size H&S is he running?

BB Tank??

BB Tank??

I see what looks like CC on the bottom . Is that just in the front, and the rest of the tank is BB?

While that tank is colorful and attractive, it's more like a fruit stand than a natural reef. Natural reefs are more monotypic and typically feature large stands of a single specimen of coral. You won't see juvenile specimens of 25 species of Acropora crammed into a 6x2x2 space on a natural reef. If it does happen to occur because of some extraordinary reason, it's a short-term situation.

Also, there are usually open areas of sand preceding a natural reef crest or at the base of the crest.

System of lighting system:

For the lighting system I have initially used 3 BiPower lamps of the Elos that but have been revealed endured insufficient for light amount. The lighting system today is entrusted to 3 Diamond parabolas with lamps EVC from 400W 10000K with ballast electronic IceCup. These succeed to perfectly cover the dimensions of the bathtub without some zone of shadow. I do not use neither blue neither actinic neons. The fotoperiodo it is of 10 hours with ignition and sfasato extinction of 15 minuteren between one lamp and the other.

I just don't get how the colors look so well balanced using only 10000K's.

anybody got more information regarding the GH method. been looking up on it could not find any article on this....
