Jackson's 115 Gallon Custom Cube 32x32x26

system looks dialed in! amazing colors and movement!

Thanks tfp. I'm happy the way things are going, but I'm becoming paranoid lol. I'm afraid to go on vacation, and weekend get aways stress me out :) I have an emergency prep team of my reef buddies every time I leave the tank. Last time I had to call on them they cleaned out my bar of my favorite scotch :o
You know who you are when you read this LMAO! :uzi::o
J/K Small price to pay.

Richard, I love the swirling mass of fish you have, its awesome! Its funny when those feeding recommendations state to not feed more than the fish can eat in x number of minutes...If you did that they would explode! I add good two or three times as much as you do with all the pumps going and I'm lucky if any is left after 30 seconds!

I know the feeling...when things are looking great it becomes even more stressful to keep that stride! keep your buddies happy with a fully stocked bar :)

More T5s! Better make sure the ceiling can handle the extra weight. :D

Love the feeding video. I did not know you have a pygmy wrasse, I love those little guys, I have one in my 29 but he never comes out to feed like that. I think he eats brown flatworms because he's always stuffed and their population crashed soon after adding him.

LOL I know. They get 2-3 squirts twice per day, and Ill usually feed them a variety of spirulina flakes and pellets as well. Lately I've been give them a fast day once every 10 days or so. It keeps them from getting too fat lol :D

:) Will do!

That's my possum wrasse. I had that guy in my old system as well. Timid fish but I like the way they swim around. He always looks like he's sneaking around hahah:hmm5: I had planaria when I first setup this tank. After I added yellow coris wrasses they were gone in a week. Not sure what the possum contributed.

love the tank...looks amazing! do you feed your corals and if so what do you feed?

Thank you! I occasionally feed reef nutrition Roe, but only a couple times per month. With the heavy fish load, and all the feedings, I don't think specific coral food in necessary in the tank.

That is one healthy looking thriving reef! Love the rich coral colours and the fish look incredibly happy and healthy... A+ :)

Thank you  Your 120 was one of my favorite tanks. When it was running at it's prime, what were your nitrate and phosphate levels? I have been working on keeping my nitrates a little lower but I kind of over did it with the fish :).

When it was in its sweet spot, the nitrates were undetectable or below 5 ppm on the Salifert kit. The phosphates typically were 0.00 on the Hanna. That said, I found the coral looked best when I had a small amount of algae on the back glass and build up daily on the front glass that I had to clean... it definitely wasn't "0" nitrates or phosphates, but pretty close. After a while I typically set aside the tests and relied on close, daily supervision to find that spot. I'd say you're in the zone based on your photos and video, don't go changing anything!

Rich dosent test ...he dips his fingure and tastes if the trates and po4 are in line

This comment is hilarious. I always tell people if they don't clean their test tubes and syringes properly, and calibrate their probes and meters, they may as well just perform a taste test to check their parameters.

LOL I'm not going to do anything drastic, but this tank can show some really scary numbers pretty quick if I don't watch it closely. I already had 50+ nitrates for a while. Not that corals start dying, but I do see brown polyps start to mask certain SPS and some green tints to pieces that are usually not green.
I am currently maintaining 10-15ppm no3, and .04 po4. Hopefully with the skimmer upgrade this is easier to do so. BTW…. I miss your 120 :(. I'm going to look at old pics of it now. It goes down in my mental history book of great reef:hmm5:

HAHHAH. Don't go telling everyone. Today my water tastes like mysis shrimp. I guess it's time for a water change :o

Just for the heck of it here's a few pic. I hate when tank threads don't have pic on every page. I have a short attention span and scroll down until I see a colorful pic, then I start reading :D

This is the 'Arctic Tundra' from Pieces of the Ocean. It looks like a shortcake table but it gets ice blue tips in ULN conditions, or if I can blast it with enough light. Hopefully the extra over driven t5's help me bring more ice blue to the tips.

Here is a wild aussie frag that has been coloring up on my rack for a while. I have no idea what it supposed to be, but I think it has potential. It has earned a spot in the reef, for now :)

Here is one of those yellow corals that certain vendors give crazy names to and charge big $$$. This one is generic :D Had red polyps fresh from the wild, but I haven't had luck keeping them red. This is the 2nd yellow/red polyp piece that I tried. Yellow stays intense but the red is a PITA Maybe it will change over time.

I seriously messed up my back lifting my 120 when I sold it almost a month ago... right now I wake up every morning, and think of my 120 when I get out of bed lol, but not in a good way! That said, I do miss it, I wish I had one more year with that set up.

This pic is proof positive that you're doing something right! :eek1:

Oh that yellow/red polyp acro is already sweet, but I have a feeling it is going to color nicely in your tank, can't wait to see an update down the road. All your colors are amazing, and some beautiful colonies there too :) Just stunning!!!

Looking awesome Rich, you've got some beautiful corals there. What are the LFS's like up you're way?

These are still small, but I''m sure I have other stuff that you're interested in ;)

I really like the "SSC" from POTO. Thats a very nice piece.

I kind of forgot about this piece for a while. I moved it into a better spot a couple of months ago and it's showing better color. We'll see what happens :) I never know with these wild pieces.

Sorry to hear that. I had my share of back troubles. Only real cure was losing weight and strengthening my abs and lower back. I was able to avoid surgery. Hopefully yours is not so severe. Thanks for the encouragement! :)

Thanks plyle! I made more room for corals to grow, and reduce shading each other. I hate moving stuff around but I had No choice. I'm going to add 4 more overdrive T5's this week which I think will eliminate my shadowing issues. I'm hoping by next update, growth will take off to a new level :)

Thanks Fishy. I have some decent shops by me. There is one in particular that is my favorite for SPS. They have a good system that not only maintains all the awesome wild acros, but they usually color them up even more. There are several other shops that get a variety of awesome SPS, but you better get to them before they go downhill is these systems.
Then we have a couple 'high end' stores. These are nice places to visit, but if you're a serious buyer you'll go broke shopping here. If you're ever in the area shoot me a PM. I'll give you a better idea where to visit.
