When it was in its sweet spot, the nitrates were undetectable or below 5 ppm on the Salifert kit. The phosphates typically were 0.00 on the Hanna. That said, I found the coral looked best when I had a small amount of algae on the back glass and build up daily on the front glass that I had to clean... it definitely wasn't "0" nitrates or phosphates, but pretty close. After a while I typically set aside the tests and relied on close, daily supervision to find that spot. I'd say you're in the zone based on your photos and video, don't go changing anything!
LOL I'm not going to do anything drastic, but this tank can show some really scary numbers pretty quick if I don't watch it closely. I already had 50+ nitrates for a while. Not that corals start dying, but I do see brown polyps start to mask certain SPS and some green tints to pieces that are usually not green.
I am currently maintaining 10-15ppm no3, and .04 po4. Hopefully with the skimmer upgrade this is easier to do so. BTW…. I miss your 120
. I'm going to look at old pics of it now. It goes down in my mental history book of great reef:hmm5:
Rich dosent test ...he dips his fingure and tastes if the trates and po4 are in line
HAHHAH. Don't go telling everyone. Today my water tastes like mysis shrimp. I guess it's time for a water change
Just for the heck of it here's a few pic. I hate when tank threads don't have pic on every page. I have a short attention span and scroll down until I see a colorful pic, then I start reading
This is the 'Arctic Tundra' from Pieces of the Ocean. It looks like a shortcake table but it gets ice blue tips in ULN conditions, or if I can blast it with enough light. Hopefully the extra over driven t5's help me bring more ice blue to the tips.

Here is a wild aussie frag that has been coloring up on my rack for a while. I have no idea what it supposed to be, but I think it has potential. It has earned a spot in the reef, for now

Here is one of those yellow corals that certain vendors give crazy names to and charge big $$$. This one is generic
Had red polyps fresh from the wild, but I haven't had luck keeping them red. This is the 2nd yellow/red polyp piece that I tried. Yellow stays intense but the red is a PITA Maybe it will change over time.
