Jebao Cross Flow Pump

Go big or go home, man. I thought I'd hate the look of bare bottom, but I honestly don't notice it anymore. It's definitely less jarring than deep sand dunes in parts and bare glass in others.

Not to mention cleaning is much easier.

If I didn't have sand critters that needed it, I wouldn't have it.

Wow, sub-$100? That's a pretty low guess in that comment but even if at $100 that's a steal. Well, it is a steal but it ... You know what I mean. [emoji1]

I believe that is just a domestic/export name translation thing. Jecod is domestic and Jebao is export...

I doubt this. Jebao (founded ins 1998) is the parent company of Jecod (founded in 2011). It probably has to do with diversification of liability.

I have very serious doubts that the 45 watt version will cost $100. I'd guess more like $179 when first released and then lower as the market supply starts to exceed the demand. Maybe the 25 watt version will get down below $100 by 6 to 9 months after it's release.

Don't be surprised if you don't see it available until March, they always run late.

Why not before Christmas? Because they don't celebrate it, they don't care that we do, they don't understand much about marketing except that it sells well if they price it lower than the competition that is already in the market place.

It's not an official government holiday but Christmas is celebrated over in China. Santa shows up at malls over there too and delivers presents all over the world.

I bet $100 won't be far off the street price.

i.e. RW pumps can be found on eBay with free shipping ~ 25% less than Fish Street's price.

I was able to bring back an old WP60 from the dead and it's now running in the frag tank on the opposite end of where the two RW15s are. I'll just replace that with the gyre when it comes out, but no rush. I also just moved over all the coral from the frag tank to the display and won't be restocking until February, so no rush :)

The ones pictured are supposably a prototypes and they should release in feb i contacted fish street a few weeks ago about this and thats what i was told

How well do gyre pumps and wavemaker pumps work together?

Wouldn't a traditional wavemaker disrupt the gyre and stop it from producing the correct currents?

Put them on timers and switch them every 6 hours and you'd tidal flow in your tank. That's kind of what I do with my old WP40 wavemakers. I run them 8 hours at a time and let them overlap for an hour at the beginning and end of each cycle.

While I have a gyre I read the middle part of that biased article to be Maxspect ripped off its customers pocketbook since it used cheap rotor materials, wiring, and mounting brackets but still charged $250 for the product that with the same "supposed" same quality Jebao is able to charge less then 1/2 for.

I am curious to know what patents Maxspect has for this though as we have already brought up that this was existing technology. I guess design patents for the look perhaps but as Apple and Samsung have shown those are worthless.
