Kessils with SPS
Kessils with SPS
Everyone...need some help with my photoperiod for SPS growth.
I currently have a 65g tank and 2 Kessil 360we that are run on the Kessil controller. My tank consist of the following corals and fish...
LPS is a Scolymia, Torch, Australius, Wellsi, 3 Ricordea Florida, 2 Yumas. All are on the sandbed. Fish are a pair of Ocellaris Clowns, 3 cleaner, mixed snails, and 2 small scarlet hermits.
I just added my first SPS GARF Bonsai. With trying to keep both LPS and my new SPS happy, am concerned with burning out the LPS and keeping the intensity up for the SPS Bonsai. So, I have decided for now to keep my LPS on the left side of the tank, and my new SPS on the right side of the tank. I know that once the GARF is light acclimated (coming from SPS dominant tank with T5's), then I can play more balancing out the LPS and SPS lighting.
Before adding the SPS, I was running my Kessils at a max of 35% color at 40% intensity ( I know that sounds low, but all of the LPS are happy right now). With that being said, I need some advice on increasing the intensity and color on the right side of my tank for the SPS GARF Bonsai, which is placed on a ledge midway up on the rock work.
So in essence, the left side of the tank that has the LPS will have a different color and intensity setting as opposed to the right. I know I will get some bleed off, I think that with having the goosenecks angled a bit, I will be ok.
Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated, especially since this is my first SPS coral. Flow is covered since I have 2 powerheads on a wave maker, giving the SPS good flow.
