Latz clowns on DD

I have all my tanks full with percula pairs and regal angels, otherwise I would be tempted. Also, while pretty good looking, they are not flawless.
If this was a wild pair and I had the space ...

Hmm I wonder if Karen is breeding these again? I've never seen full barred Latz from anyone else. Interesting.

Yes very tempting almost pulled the trigger but decided not even with 15% code I got from them... Maybe when it goes on sale I will pull the trigger.

I set up a second tank and put a pair of designer Ocellaris clowns in it yesterday. So I ran out of room. But even if I did have space I am not sure I like them enough to pay that much money or to enjoy them long term. Just not my thing. But I can see the appeal especially for breeders or collectors.

Do the center bars get wider with age? If not, for that kind of money, I'd be a little disappointed. Other than that, I agree that they look like nice CB Latz.

LOL I think if it was a wild pair, you would find the space :D
A wild pair for 600 - for sure!

These are bred in Australia. Blue Zoo has them too.

They widen with age, but these have some signs of "near misbar" - for this money I would want them perfect all the way.

Dick Perrin was, IMO, a very nice guy and help me a lot in the early years of reef keeping. Talking to him was what lead me to used and developed my protocol using fresh water dip as treatment for Pinched Mantle Disease (PMD) for giant clams in the early 2000's. I have not deal with this disease for a long time, but as far as I know, this is the only effective treatment available for PMD even 25 years later. This disease devastated a lot of reefers and business at it's peak.
He was a great reefer and very easy to talk to. He freely give his experiences to help others.
Too bad that he acts illegally and have this stain on his reputation in his latter years. He is in his early 80's. I am sadden for him.

Sorry to be off topic but I just wanted to comment on Dick Perrin :(

Alprazo, the owner and one of the employees were sentenced to illegal trafficking of marine life from Florida. I wonder how he's still in business even after this? For sure can't beat the prices they have.

Nevermind staying in business after being sentenced of illegal trafficking, I'm wondering how they do any business with that website. After 5 minutes of looking to see what they were selling, my eyes were going numb lol.

Their website (Tropicorium) has always been that way, circa 1999. Not to hijack this thread, but I agree, Dick was always great to work with and talk to. I was fortunate enough to work at Tropicorium for a few years and it was a great learning experience for me. In fact, I was there when we started to breed clowns, what fun! I hope he can recover from this, as he was one of the first ones to bring "coral farming" to the public.
Anyway, it's better to call them, then to look at their website for updated livestock.
Damn, this brings back a lot of memories.......

He is a very good reefer and the animals are first rate and healthy. Inexpensive relatively. That is how he survive. People who visit there always impressed.

Well, you take some coral frags and they sentence you to probation or even doing time.
You mess up the whole golf with an oil spill because you wanted to save a few bucks on safety measures and you go free ...
It's really a joke.

I don't think the market is there to support $600/pair for captive bred latz.

Dick is a great reefer and has contributed an immense amount to this hobby. More than most people know. He's been a friend for a long time and always will be.
