I have a Potter's in QT. I'm glad I decided to QT him and his tank mate because his tank mate showed signs of what I'm leaning to be velvet shortly after arrival. I started Crypto Pro and they are looking better.

QT is a 29g with half water from display and half new water adjusted to the lower sg of the supplier. I have a tub of sand in there for her to burrow in w/a K2 aimed at the surface and a hob filter with just filter floss for filtration. Works good. No ammonia :)

These wrasse are fairly common in our local waters. Based on the feedback I got on various forums, this one included, its a Halechoeres, not a Marcropharyngodon.

Here is a pic of a supermale, I caught a year ago.
Released it again, was too big for my systems.

Crag how is our leopard doing the one you got from Mauritius
The one I have now lives on pellets

What was their reasoning for those IDs? The finnage doesn't resemble a halechoeres to me. Don't get me wrong I'm not sure and not a biologist just curious is all.

Beautiful fish tho!

Not sure of reasons for classification.
I took the feedback on face value, as I am no expert.
Perhaps others could comment?:beachbum:

Mine is also doing well, also eats pellets and anything I throw into tank.
Fat belly after feeding but body is still a little thin.
I hope its not because of worms?:fish2:

My lil Potter's and his friend at 1mm NLS pellets today. Not soaked in anything either. I just tried them. :bounce3::bounce2::wildone:

M. geoffroyi is coming up on DD tonight. Also, keep an eye out for an M. choati becoming available via regular LA or DD. I do a search every so often on LA for leopard to get some eye candy and a listing for M. choati is now listed (not in stock) which hasn't been there previously.

La should have them as QM does but they are very limited . i would wait until they come in larger quantities as they show 4 of the small ones and 3 large ones. give em some time to fill up their buckets my friend and you will have a better chance of getting a good one .

The Macropharyngodon bipartitus male I picked up from a local hobbyist this weekend. He spent just shy of 48 hours in the sand and then appeared. And is setting up regular hours now. Up around 10 am and to bed by 9:30. The guy I bought it from had it for a year before I bought him. He told me it ate Rod's Food and mysis. I tried some mysis and he ate that right away. I haven't tried the Rod's Food yet but he readily takes 1mm NLS pellets so I'm happy!

Where do you see their stock quantity? Are you looking at LA or QM? How are you able to check QM?

its a bipartus IMO .

We dont get the bipartitus where I caught my guy above. In fact I've never seen a bipartitus in our local coastal waters - but they have been reported.
We do get lots and lots of the lapillus, they swim in mini shoals with a few of the super males - as per my pic

Apology, as I have posted these pics before.

One of our locally caught lapillus. They go browner as they age.

bipartitus and lapilus checking each other out.
they were fine for the first few months, but eventually the bipartitus harrassed the lapillus to death.

Very nice pictures. So that's the juvenile of the Jewel that came up on DD last month? Glad I grabbed that picture too because it's off DD now.

I've been considering a bipartitus for my tank but was wondering if my sand was too course for them? I have tropic eden reef flakes and can't seem to find any info either way of it is appropriate for wrasses.
