Thread here with someone who has experienced a very similar problem, one of the guys on UR pointed me to it.
Hopefully the link can stay.
So i introduced a female bipart last thursday and immediately she went into the sand. She's about 4". Hasn't come out since. This evening I noticed where she went in the sand swirled around like she moved for a second but that was it. Still never came out. My Potters Leopard is acting normal as ever. How long should I wait till I dig into the sand to make sure she's not dead? I don't want to disturb her if she's sleeping. I haven't seen any snails or hermets in the area so i guess thats a good sign.
Never dig in the sand for them... as about three people will say after me. We all ask and answer this question every few days or so![]()
Why is that? Is it for stress only? I'm asking because I'm in the process of acquiring my first leopard, but I also got a fighting conch digging everywhere. Should he be confined somewhere during the first weeks?
I just got this wrasse from my brother. He ordered it as a black leopard wrasse and although it really looks like some sort of leopard wrasse, I think it's a dusky wrasse. Took looking at a lot of pics on the net to find one that looked like him. What's strange is that no online stores seem to carry this wrasse. He buries in the sand like a leopard, and goes around hunting for pods the same way as well, but his tail and fins look different than any leopard I can see. Sorry, I can't get the pattern on his side clear. He never stops, so it's hard to get a good pic.
