Bipartitus trio arrived today from DD. Did a thorough acclimation and put them straight into my DT fuge (no QT ). The three looked pretty good actually, though all headed straight for the sand. Didn't expect to see them for at least a few days, but both females are already out after less than 2 hours, and picking at the rocks/chaeto. No sign of the bigger male yet though. Will let them settle in and try feeding with some small Mysis tomorrow. Depending on how that goes (listing on DD didn't note specifically that they were eating frozen, though I'd assume they were in order to get 'released') will determine whether I order any pods or not.

I am envious of you. Show us pictures when you can

update on my trio - well on the male bipartitus. he is a little grumpy when he wakes up in the morning. once he finds his two ladies who wake up a couple hours earlier he is much more sprightly.

Did yours eat brine/Mysis right away, or was some coaxing required? Would be very interested to know how you approached feeding them when they first arrived - did you order pods, for example, or just get them onto frozen, etc. Thanks in advance!

Male looks terrific BTW.

Pics when they are out

My photography skill pales in comparison to yours, but this is the best I can do so far ....

Females both out and about, and eating frozen brine (though not Mysis yet). No sign of the big guy since he buried himself yesterday. The urge to go digging is one that I must resist.

While I am OC about keeping the DT clean and detritus free, I keep my fuge as grubby as possible. Interestingly, chaeto is making a comeback after being largely killed off by the ATS.

they ate rather immediately that is, the same day i had them in qt. they were eating small hikari mysis day 1. i don't feed brine so i don't know about how they'd take to it. they also took to mussels and squid from the market and over a week finally took to blackworms which is a great feeding sight to see as they slurp them up throughout the tank. i did have a substantial amount of pods for their arrival and they immediately took to that. i was concerned they wouldn't receive enough food so i had plenty of pods on hand for their arrival.

Come on monkiboy u gotta get us a longer video than that lol. That male's color is insane
i need a better video-camera! the male looks so much nicer in person so it makes me happy to hear you think his color looks nice. his caudal and anal fin have colored up with this gorgeous soft red and iridescent blue that really is spectacular. i feel very happy i've picked this trio together.

yes, RESIST! if things are well in your tank, he'll come out eventually. it took my male a few weeks to finally emerge and then like most everyone else's system he spends more and more time out and about. just fill him with food through smaller multiple portions when he is awake. they look great and i'm eager to see your success with them!

Male actually did make an appearance, albeit a brief one. Went to get the camera and by the time I got back, POOF, he was gone again :(

Quick update before I head off for a long weekend. Females continue to be out, though not quite synchronized, one comes out a few hours before the other one, and are eating both frozen brine and Mysis. Male has not reappeared since the cameo yesterday.

Back from the weekend, females out and eating aggressively. Male has not been out today, but I can see his tail fin if I look up at the underneath of that tank bottom and it's wiggling about so he's just not apparently decided to grace with his presence.

Good news, Man. What are you feeding them?

Spirulina brine, hikari and PE mysis. Plus fuge has (or maybe, had by now) a good pod population. Was thinking about also trying the angel/butterfly mixture that appears to contain krill.

Amusingly, I'm having more trouble getting a flasher wrasse in QT to eat anything :)
