Lights or controller???

I would vote against the controller. How can you setup a controller if you dont even know how to monitor your tank?? And LEDs Im not one to jump yet cause Im sure in 2 months there will be some new and better LEDs to come out. Its still fairly new and still developing.

I would go for lights, but not necessarily LED. Give the tank some light so the algae blooms from light will go into play. You can automate those with $5 timers

Sometimes not only a right or wrong way, both can end with same result. Doesnt hurt to ask options, then decide for yourself, Good luck.
