My 748 Gal A.G.E. Aquaillumination SOL lit Texas Dream Tank Build!

dart motors take a short time to break in (noise wise)
i just want to actually see a PM Balistic skimmer running. (they look nice, but i cant find any information or anyone with one...)

I have family in Houston, and grew up in East Texas (2 hours east of Dallas) and some people just dont understand how much a person can sweat from just walking out the house and too the car...... or why car people invented "air conditioned" seats for people in the south.. haha.

with the canopy venting outside, you shouldn't see any difference in your house humidity. (great idea!!) but you might think of tenting the windows directly behind the tank. just less radiant heat from the windows. but leave the windows UN-tinted above the tank for the light. (with curtains, you will still feel a lot of the heat.)

Which fish stores in Houston do you frequent? I live in the area and am looking for more diversity for coral/frags than Fish Gallery has at the moment.

I like the idea of pump house outside. We started it up last night & it was pretty loud.

I will have to see once I get the cabinets in.

Cabinets will help. I would sleep good wtih that in my room. How many GPH are you sending thru your tank?

Windows have solar screens.

Thought I might stick pink insulation on them, but since winter is coming I probably will not worry about that for a while. I think it is going to be hard to keep it warm now that it is winter.

Think I will buy 2-3 titanium heaters 500-1000 watt. Only need to get 3-4 degrees out of them.

I can't believe how long the plumbing has taken. We have a good 24 hrs in it.

I am sure you can relate, everything takes 3X longer than you think.

I have to quiet down the Durso's this weekend with the hole in top (not drilled yet).

I am going to start small, then go up to air line tubing size. The stuff you use for RO filters, kind of rigid. I have that on my 200 & it is quiet.

1/2", dang thats big.

I can take the pump noise, but the water overflow os wayyy too loud. It will take some time & trial/error, but I will get it quiet.

i have seen people drill for 1/4 line and put a valve on it and just adjust it with it if needed.

also, a lot of new durso pipes have 2-1/2 holes drilled in the sides of the pipe just below the tee on the down pipe.
google durso pipes and click on images and you will see what im talking about.
not sure what they are for, other then flow, but it miight be something to look into.

(PVC is cheap, and if it doesnt work, then its only 5$ worth of plumbing.)

Andy I was coping off my 220. That is why I had to go with a 1/2" hole.
I re-did my durso the right way 1/4" was to small. I ended up with 3/8".
works good!!!!

Great job on the build so far Andy:) I had seen the other day from but you've made great progress...Plumbing slowly is the way to go so it is done really cleanly!
