My new magnifica.

Okay I wouldn't say it deflates fully as of now but some of the tentacles do I just figured it was because it was still getting acclimated only been a few days and it's walkin around getting situated. Should I be concerned about what I'm seeing now?

Mags will certainly be smaller at night than during the day under your main lights; and it is normal to see a few flaccid tentacles every now and then, but if you are seeing the entire anemone deflating then that is a waning sign that all is not well. If you see that on a repeated basis, then the animal is likely to expires unless you begin treatment. Minh has a sticky here on Cipro treatment that significantly improves survival rates for these wonderful animals. Good luck.

Okay ill def keep an eye on it. And will have a look through that sticky on cipro treatment. Thanks for the advice.

Magnifica should not deflated. They should not deflated at all after the first day or so. The earlier the treatment, the better the outcome. I would take him out and treat him.

My wording was bad I guess he hasn't deflated just the tentacles aren't full in the morning before the lights come on. Will defiantly treat if the problem persists.

What's a good feeding regiment for it? Have done research and a lot of it is different just want some good up to date advice from someone that has kept one a while.

Thanks again!

Don't feed him yet, until you are sure that his is completely healthy. Feeding sick anemone will make them a lot worst

I would give it a couple of weeks to make sure it settles in and is doing good before feeding it.I give mine a whole cube of thawed Mysis once a week.

I don't target feed my mag at all and it has grown tremendously under my care. I think if you have a decent fish load, and a pair of clowns, the nem will not be underfed.

HAHAHA Are you saying to just restock your fish from time to time so the anemone can eat?

Not lookin so good going to pick up the cipro treatment medication from my veterinarian Thursday due to funds. Setting up the quarantine today after I post this.

 I didn't mean that, but not an unreasonable interpretation of what I wrote. Have actually not found my mag to be a fish eater at all, but it gets plenty of floating food because I feed my tank very heavily.

Oh boy!

Oh boy!

The mag made a turn for the better before I got the cipro medication in. Was doing well for about 3 weeks or so and then a few days ago it's mouth gaped open after I fed it for the first time "I fed it a cube of phytoplankton, inserted via syringe after the cube was thawed" and never closed back up, it wasn't expanding and was making a sort of taco shape, tentacles were still full. So cipro treatment started today. Here's some photos of day 1.

Tank is a standard ten gallon with a ph and heater. Light is a 15w t8 bulb. Not sure if that is sufficient or not.

Thanks for any advice.

Very nice... Go ahead and continue with the the dedicated QT/HT regiment.

There might have been something in the DT that was affecting it.

That one looks pretty nice so far. It is really liking the different water.
