Need recommendations for a centerpiece fish

Current stock:
Swallowtail angel
Hippo,yellow and powder blue tang
5 purple firefish
4 firefish
1 stripped dartfish
3 Bartlett's Anthias
3 engineer gobies
Mandarin goby
Diamond goby

Considering a regal or emperor angel or a pair of moorish idols. I do understand the risks.

Also maybe if I can find a crosshatch trigger.

Fridmani or Scott's fairy wrasse is an option but I don't see them as a centerpiece. Thank you for your input. [emoji4]

There are plenty of other striking wrasses. I am curious, Why would a Scott Super Male Fairy wrasse would not fit the bill? Hardy, striking color, fairly large, very active fish. It is true that he will be all over your tank instead of being in the center all the time. I agree with you that a pair of Fridmani would be too small to be a centerpiece fish.

Definitely a Regal Angel, or a pair, would fit what you want. I am getting a pair from a friend today.

So you are getting a pair of regal angels?
Nothing against a Scott's wrasse but there is just something about larger colorful fish that makes them stand out to me.
Btw- I think I have seen you post a lot about your ritteri nems. How are they doing? It was inspiring and I ended up making it my centerpiece when it come to non fish. It's the first thing people look at when they see the tank for the first time.

150 cube is too small for a crosshatch - probably too small for your powder blue or hippo. Regal angel would be ok. Those anthias look like tuka not bartlett

Thanks for the input. I think you are right about the Anthias. It was sold as barletts so I went for it since I knew they were easier than a queen but luckily they are doing well. They are all eating flakes, pellets and frozen mysis.

I was looking for something that's about 4-5" trigger or regal. Seems hard to find. I would sacrifice all my zoos and clam for a nice and healthy regal angel.

Another fish that came to mind is 2 or 3 pyramid butterflies. Would be nice to see if they swam together like the Anthias and purple fire fishes.

Thanks joe, just out of curiosity do you say I'm maxed out due to bioload?

Oh ok. In my personal opinion is if the fish show no aggression and the nutrient export is sufficient then the number of fish is irrelevant.
I once had a sohal tang in there which was the centerpiece but after 2 years it became a bully. Now it's in my friends 300 gallon. Any fish that's not compatible gets donated to my friends 300. He doesn't mind. Lol

I probably have had success with anthias more than most ...... and I cannot keep Tuka. They eat for awhile, but not enough, and get progressively thinner and thinner. Pyramids are a good choice; I have five in my tank. They don't seem to need a ton of space and they are good eaters.

I guess not a pair but to Juveniles that have been together for months in a friend's tank. Yellow Chest about 1.5 and one a little larger. They are in my DT now. In the rock work. I have to find where and squint food there for them. Ate some last night only a few hrs after been in the DT.

Scott Fairy wrasse is beautiful in color and certainly large enough in my opinion, but never keep one.

I have several Magnifica, all are doing well in various tanks. I really like your aquas-cape and think your Magnifica is a perfect centerpiece.

I think you should look for a Regal angel. These are beautiful fish, either Blue or Yellow chest. Your Powder Blue also qualify as centerpiece fish IMO.

No. Those are my adult yellow chest and blue chest Regal Angels. Unfortunately they passed when somebody turn off my generator after hurricane Harvey while I was in Austin. Crashed my tank. I was able to save my Anemones and a few LPS. Fishes, clams and SPS gone. It was shut off about 24-36 hrs prior to us come back home. Not enough to even melt any food in my freezer but enough to created harvoc for my 320 DT. Total volume about 500 gal
