New AquaController 3/3 Pro Firmware

It has been a week and I have had at least two restarts in the device. I can tell because the display in the ACIII changes to the default one with the device icons and my data log gets restarted as well. I am not aware of any loses of electricity in the house so I am affraid it might be the controller that resets itself.

This hasn't affected its performance as it still controls all the devices when it restarts and the program doesn't get erased or anything... but I am concern that the restarts might damage the unit somehow.

I too am now seeing issues with loading the AC3 web page with consistency... about 2/3 of the time, when I go the to AC3 and authenticate, I get this next:

Unable to connect
Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at ac3.

Usually in the left frame, but occasionally in the title frame too. Same in FF3, FF3.5, IE8, and Chrome, so it's not browser-dependent. If I do a AC3 power cycle, all is well for 18-24 hours, then it starts happening again.

I use customized web pages in my AC3, so I went back to the default web pages for a while... no change.

This did not happen with any of the previous betas.

Also, the temp graph (but not pH & ORP) quits working after a day or so.... when I click on Temp Graph, the only thing that shows up is the dropdown selector and refresh button. I have to reload the firmware before it starts working again.

Russ,
Try this in FF3 or 3.5:

In the address bar put in about:config

Then change the network.http.max-connections-per-server to 2

If that works, then it sounds like some of the web pages have been changed so that IE8 isn't honoring the maximum # of connections.

Anybody else not seeing graphs in the iphone app. I have not seen graphs since the betas have started. The graphs are fine from an IE page.

Curt, that appears to have done the trick... went into the AC3 web interface, closed FF, loaded back up, went into AC3 web GUI, closed, etc several times.... no connection failures.

My Temp graphs works again too. I'll be visiting my AC3 regularly for the next day to continue checking.

Thanks!

Very interesting! I couldn't figure out why my Temp graph would stop displaying after I accumulated a day or two of data (15 minute samples). It seemed to work fine until a couple days worth of data was accumulated.

pH always worked just fine.

After reconfiguring the max connections_per_server to 2 (from 15 in FF 3.5) it started working again.

Thanks

Is anyone else having problems with TempA or pH1?

I just noticed that ever since last week's firmware update my TempA and pH1 values are not changing. They have been the same since . They have been the same ever since the power off & on after flashing the new firmware on June 27th.

I'll try rebooting the ACIII again when I get home tonight.

rock solid so far.

quick question, any chance changing the datalog or feed mode intervals will be available via the browser?

I installed this last night thought I would test it sence my tank is tore down at the moment. I plugged in the temp sensor to see the graph and it worked last night, but when i woke up this morning it wasnt showing up anymore. The PH and PH2 graphs are still showing up though. I dont have any probes plugged into them at the moment maybe Ill just plug them in tomorrow and see if the graph dissapears once they are there.

fordsvt04,
The ac3loader can't connect to the AquaController. Make sure that the IP address is correct, and that AquaNotes is not running.

herozero,
No, those options won't be added to the web page anytime soon.

805, the STARTTLS response from GMail's server means that it requires a form of encryption called Transport Layer Security (TLS). IIRC, it's been stated that encrypted email support will not be added to the AC3. Try using your ISP's email system instead. As an alternative, GMX.com is a free email provider that works fine with the AC3.

I had an odd issue with the title frame as well in Vista/Firefox. Occasionally it won't load, but a forced refresh will load it again.

No other issues at this point.

Same thing here on a Mac. After several refreshes and back to normal.

I just installed v3.4, the Iphone 3Gs aquanotes application works perfectly, I had some difficulty getting the installation to work due to Cox cable blocking port 80, so used a different port. Also, for some reason the firmware required option B, DHCP for my configuration, but once I did that correctly it installed just fine.

Curt at Neptune Systems was very helpful, I'm very impressed with the customer support, thank you Curt!

Do you have in the 3Gs application the red light for o OFF status. I am geting ONLY the green light for ON and empty for OFF (I think) Yours is o.k?
