New AquaController 3/3 Pro Firmware

I figured out my issue, so if anyone else runs across this...

I had changed the default TCP port for my website. I changed it back to 80 and everything worked fine.

Don

I have a similar problem, but am not sure where you are talking about changing the tcp port?

Is that directly on the ac3? If so, then mine is already at port 80

But, all goes well except for the fatgraph update...

I can ecen see some of the changes on the web interface, but not all the new pages work... I guess due to the incomplete upgrade..???

Any help is appreciated, THANKS

ok, got it to go through the update process with a 'success' next to fatgraph, BUT, it still doesnt seem to show any graphs and the 'net setup' page has all kinds of 'junk data' in the fields...

and none of the xml or rss pages work... the graphs page shows an error of PAGE NOT FOUND...

hmmm

Im guessing this is why it is still beta version... oh wel.. i tried...

When i try to update the firmware, by powercycling the ac3, i dont see any progress dots or anything. just a blank screen which after about 30 seconds reboots to the main startup of the ac3

hmmm

That sounds about correct. You can check if the update worked by executing a Self Test from the menu; you should get 3.40S 4E09

Have you verified that the firmware update took; check Self-test; it should report firmware 3.40S 4E09

hello, no, it still shows 3.30

i thought i read that the update flash was to show dots or something.. i guess i am wrong about that too..

I was running into the same problem (update was timing out and the controller reset and just went back to usual running) until I went in and set the computer's cable ethernet to a fixed IP instead of obtaining automatically.

Try this:
Connect the computer directly to your AC3 via an ethernet cable (not through your router/home network), then on your computer:

Right click on the computer icon that says "local area connection"in your system tray (down by your clock). Select "Open network connections" That will bring up a window that will have an icon that says Local Area Connection. Right click that icon and select properties. There will be a list that says "This connection uses the following items" scroll down and click once on "Internet Protocol TCP/IP" then click the properties button. If "obtain an IP address automatically" is selected, change it to "use the following IP address" and then enter the info for an unassigned address that has the first three sets of digits the same as the IP address of your AC3. Set the subnet mask and default gateway are identical to what is in the AC3. Then try the loader program again and see what happens. Once you are done, go back into the Local Area Connection as above, go to the TCP/IP properties and switch back to "obtain IP address automatically" so you can connect it back to your network.

umm, well, just before i unplugged my ac3, i tried to restart the ac3 from teh network setup menu, and it looked like it BRICKED on me.

The screen went blank and would not restart... I waited two minutes then did a power cycle, and it came back to startup and firmware 3.30

I am dont screwing around, I will wait till the final release i guess...

I hope having some of hte updated files/pages wont screw things up for me while I wait? If so, how do i go backwards and reinstall the old firmware??

thanks

Lots of us are already running the beta without issue. Something in the way you tried to load it is causing you problems, not the firmware. But, I think if you have your program and timers saved and want to revert you can just go into set-up and go to reset and it should revert to factory defaults. Then just load your info back in again and it'll be the same as you were before.

I have done all updated using wireless using the following procedures and they worked without any errors.

Try this instead...

Download http://www.neptunesys.com/tftpd32.exe and follow these steps to update:

Put the tftpd32.exe executable, and the aqua.bin file from the firmware update package into the same directory.
Run the tftpd.exe application.
Make sure that the current directory field points to the directory where you extract the zip file.
On the DHCP server tab:
Make the IP pool starting address an unused IP address on your local
network (usually something like 192.168.1.50).
Set the netmask (usually 255.255.255.0)
Make the size of pool equal to 1 or more.
Set the boot file to aqua.bin
Click the save button.

Make sure that no other DHCP server is running on your local network.

ok, what is a dhcp server?

I have installed some type of webserver stuff recently to work on websites on my computer. Seems i can not make them and see them unless i either upload to some server or install these 'servers' on my pc...

I just STOPPED all the 'servers' i could find that were running in the system tray.. but still no luck...

The tftpd program says it is listening on port 69? is that the correct port, and or is there other settings that i should check...

thanks

well after all was working and set my log interval to 15 minutes it stopped responding shortly after ( I was trying from work ). Got home to find ac3 LOCKED UP, nothing worked, buttons on controller had no effect.

Rebooted and it restored.

ok, what is a dhcp server?

Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) is a network protocol used by netowork connected devices to obtain configuration information for operation in an Internet Protocol network.

This is not a service on the computer, it is a configuration in the router. You should see a check-box on a configuration screen of your router; disable it, uncheck-in, etc then perform the firmware upgrade. Be sure to re-enable DHCP once the upgrade is completed.

You won't need to change tftp port values; leave them unchanged.

ok, well this time i got a 'message' on the tftpd program

rcvd DHCP inform Msg fro IP 192.168.2.2 MAC 00:1E:90DF:F3:30[24/04 15:02:46:671]

I had to retype that info as cut and paste didnt work... (I hope i got it correct)

This is good (that you are seeeing messages)...

Is this correct "192.168.2.2". Is your AC3 by chance "192.168.2.x"?
