6" tubing by 1/4" thick is $32.61 a foot, minimum order is 6ft.

Contact Innovative Aquarium Products. That is our local Acrylic aquarium manufacturer. Mario can get you in touch with him. I would bet he has acrylic tube since he makes skimmers as well.

I think extruded is OK for the riser tube.

Any advice on cutting acrylic tube? I am curious how to get a flat, even cut. Thanks for the input guys!

You can make a jig to hold the pipe while running it over the table saw blade. Rotate the pipe in place I believe. I've never tried it, but read many do it that way.

Glad that booster pump finally showed up. What did it end up costing you? You got if from a guy on Ebay, right?

Marc, how do YOU cut acrylic pipe?? I guess a tall fence would work. I'll have to see if it will fit my radial arm saw. That might work too.

Good news! The local branch of Interstate Plastics will sell me any length of the acrylic tube I want for $9.22/foot. It will take about 1.5 weeks to get it, but as you all know, I am willing to wait!

So for all you nay-sayers...YES, I will use CLEAR tube for the riser.
