Contact Innovative Aquarium Products. That is our local Acrylic aquarium manufacturer. Mario can get you in touch with him. I would bet he has acrylic tube since he makes skimmers as well.

Sorry it took so long to respond. I am not getting my email notifications for some reason.

I think extruded is OK for the riser tube.

Any advice on cutting acrylic tube? I am curious how to get a flat, even cut. Thanks for the input guys!

:D

24 inches!!

24 inches!!

That's 2 inches is about 15 hours! Wow I feel like a dummy for not having that booster from the beginning. :eek1:

You can make a jig to hold the pipe while running it over the table saw blade. Rotate the pipe in place I believe. I've never tried it, but read many do it that way.

Glad that booster pump finally showed up. What did it end up costing you? You got if from a guy on Ebay, right?

Thanks Jonathan for venturing into this skimmer I had the same idea and now I know it can be done. Keep up the good work!

Marc, how do YOU cut acrylic pipe?? I guess a tall fence would work. I'll have to see if it will fit my radial arm saw. That might work too.

Kent E Thanks for the encouragement. I really need it right now. What part of it interests you? What is the idea you had?

Good news! The local branch of Interstate Plastics will sell me any length of the acrylic tube I want for $9.22/foot. It will take about 1.5 weeks to get it, but as you all know, I am willing to wait! :D

So for all you nay-sayers...YES, I will use CLEAR tube for the riser. :p

Marc,

I forgot to answer about the pump. I got it from this guy:

So not too bad but the drop ship was screwed up and it took an extra week to get it. The seller said he ordered in a dozen so he could ship them out himself.

That is a really good price. $110 for everything - wow. I don't need it, but its tempting to get it anyway. :D

I don't cut acrylic pipe. I know better. ;)

I was going to ask how you make your stuff if you don't cut it, but checking on your web site I don't see anything with tubes!

I think I will try to spin cut it on my radial.

The day I use any round acrylic, you can bet others will be asking for stuff. Round = bad. :D

Round = skimmers :D
