Ot: Lakers vs Magic

Rumor is ariza is hurt by the lakers only offering mid level. Only a couple of teams in the leauge can offer him more one I know is Portland I think Detroit was the other because of the salary cap. The cavs can only give ariza The mid level also. I think it's messed up that we did not offer him more but it is what it is. I also heard the reason they are not I worried about ariza is because of artest. I as a laker fan really like ariza. It never fails every time I like to follow a player on the lakers the lose him or get rid of him. Eddie jones, Anthony peeler and the shaq diesel. Next year is going to be exciting. I also heard hedo is going to Portland.

Wow, Artest to the Lakers definitely lines them up for a threepeat, if everyone can stay healthy. The only thing stopping LA from rolling through the West is San Antonio signing Rasheed, and they LA is still a better team. The Cavs were looking at Artest and/or Ariza, so Id have to believe that Ariza will sign with Cleveland. Detroit only has about $2m to offer, since they signed Gordon and Villanueva. Hedo is gaining interest from mainly Portland, but there are also rumors that Toronto may make a run at him. Rasheed doesnt seem TOO excited to play for Boston, since he didnt accept the 2 year deal they gave him. Its just saddening Orlando isnt in the talks for any big star. I guess we'll just be content with our finals appearance and now fall back to mediocrity.

Cya TA hello RA.

No hard feelings towards Trevor. He had a great year and i think he is doing the right thing by trying to cash in on his success with the Lakers. This is his chance to sign a big contract and set the rest of his life.

Artest is a beast anywhere on the floor and he can guard Melo, Lebron, Pierce, etc. This will help Kobe out on the defensive end and allow him to focus more on playmaking and scoring and expend less energy on guarding the other teams best player. Plus, Artest can shoot the 3-ball and post/score down low and will command a double team. Now PJ has to come back. How can he pass up this golden opportunity to win another ring?

Whered you hear this rumor? Havent heard or seen it anywhere... Thatd be a great addition for the Lakers.

From someone I know locally ;) According to her, Ron had actually agreed two days ago but it's not "officially out" til today.

Bynum
Gasol
Artest
Kobe
Fish

:eek2:

Honestly, Im gonna miss Ariza. I would rather have him than Artest. Only for the fact, that Trevor is so much younger than Ron.

But hey, either way were still in the running for another championship :D

Espn has announced that Ariza has agreed to sign with Houston.

Haha. Saw that too. Supposedly he will sign for the MLE which the Lakers were likely willing to offer him! Ariza's agent should be fired. He played this one completely wrong. Makes Mitch look like a genius!

Now TA is on a team with 2 crippled superstars and the 3rd one just bolted to the Lakers. Never again will Trevor see the wide-open shots he was getting playing with Kobe. Houston is headed for the lottery and TA is headed towards a world full of frustration. Meanwhile life goes on in Lakerland.

Dang, this sucks for Cleveland.. all they added was Snaq

LA will repeat, and LeTravel is on his way to NY in 2010

It says a lot that Artest chose to play with Kobe & Pau instead of Lebron & Shaq. It says that he perceives the Lakers as the best team in the league and the best chance to win a ring with next year.

On another note, I think that the Celtics are going to be the best in the east if they get Sheed. That's going to be a tough foursome.

It was just reported on Yahoo that the Lakers (and Kobe) wanted to bring Ariza back, but his agent decided to make a power play which ended up sending Ariza to lottery bound Houston and give us a huge talent in Ron Ron. I think somebody needs to get fired!!

Haha! I think his agent needs to be thanked as well! If he didn't make that power play, we wouldn't have artest.

As many laker fans, I too really liked Trevor's game and saddened to see him go...HOWEVER, he (Arriza) was quoted as saying that he wouldn't give the Lakers a "hometown discount" for his services. When I heard that, I lost a lot of respect for him and even though I can't stand Ron ARREST, I can appreciate that he will bring a certain toughness that we needed last year. Having said all that, has next year's parade date already been set and will it run from Staples to the Coliseum again?

Cleveland the same as the Lakers? LA is clearly the favorites by a large margin. Id have to say if Boston signs Sheed, they are the favorites in the East, with Cleveland #2 (assuming Orlando doesnt do anything else). At least the Rockets took Ariza away from Cleveland, for Orlando's sake.

Odds to win 2010 NBA Championship:
Cleveland Cavaliers (9/4)
Los Angeles Lakers (9/4)
Boston Celtics (5/1)
Orlando Magic (6/1)
San Antonio Spurs (11/1)
Denver Nuggets (13/1)
Houston Rockets (15/1)
Portland Trail Blazers (18/1)
Utah Jazz (20/1)
Dallas Mavericks (40/1)
New Orleans Hornets (40/1)
Detroit Pistons (45/1)
Atlanta Hawks (50/1)
Chicago Bulls (50/1)
Miami Heat (50/1)
Phoenix Suns (50/1)
Philadelphia 76ers (60/1)
New Jersey Nets (75/1)
New York Knicks (75/1)
Washington Wizards (75/1)
Charlotte Bobcats (100/1)
Golden State Warriors (100/1)
Indiana Pacers (100/1)
Los Angeles Clippers (100/1)
Oklahoma City Thunder (100/1)
Sacramento Kings (100/1)
Toronto Raptors (100/1)
Milwaukee Bucks (125/1)
Minnesota Timberwolves (125/1)
Memphis Grizzlies (150/1)

ESPN has just announced that Hedo has agreed to sign with Portland. Even without Sheed, Orlando isn't going to get past the Celtics or Cleveland next year. Back to lottery land for VC & the Magic.

If I was a betting man, I'd put some money on Portland next year. They're a great young team that just got an experienced great player who's been in the finals. Hedo + Brandon Roy is going to be exciting.

Lottery land is a little extreme. I think we took a step back assuming we dont adding thing else. But theres no way we drop below the #3 seed.

Ill take Ron any day.. Everyone liked TA because he was a defensive player getting lots of half court steals... His 3 range was eh..

Ron has better D, steals balls all day and has a wet jumper from way beyond the arc... 5 for kobe baby!

The latest on this one is saying that Hedo cut off talks with Portland....so the deal is off. Huge sigh of relief for all the West Coasters because that would make Portland scary if they could add him w/o losing anyone in exchange. Now he's supposedly going to Toronto.
