Peeping Banggai Fry

Today the babies are 8 days old and we have only lost 1 so far.
They have been eating enriched bbs 3 times a day and have gotten so big!
This morning we introduced cyclopeeze mix with bbs. They ate it
With no problem :) so we tried just cyclopeeze and they ate that too.
Any suggestions on our feeding schedule, like what and when we should try next.
 
Our other male Banggai is definitely holding a mouth full of eggs.
We placed a fish trap in the tank hopefully he will swim in there.
If not we will try to catch him in a couple of days and set up the other 10g holding tank.

Congrats on the fry! Sorry for not replying sooner but my wife just gave birth to my new fry. Hehe

Anyway, you can try to star feeding other types of food at the 2nd week mark. That usually works for me.

So far all the 13fry from my 2nd batch are still doing great. My pair haven't spawned again which is actually ok for mr cause I don't have time yet. Hopefully they will spawn again soon.

This morning we introduced frozen rots with cyclopeeze.
The babies were not so sure at first. So I swirled the water just a little and they took a few bites and then a few more. It is so rewarding to see their little tummies so full. They are about 1/2" now.
 
This morning Ed managed to catch the male banggai in a net and he spit out all the eggs :(

So now the good news is we have both males out of the DT and in 10g tanks now we just have to catch the 2 females and we are in business.

We have the eggs tumbling now wish us luck!
 
I have a question about our DIY egg tumbler.
The eggs are slightly moving, is this ok or should they be tumbling?
 
I turn the air up to the point where the eggs are suspended, but not bouncing.

Depending on your tank, you may have to clean the mesh every few days. Luckily you don't have to do that more than once while they are in it. When I tumble in my DT I get a lot more detrius.
 
Where do you have your Banggai's in your DT or a plain breeders tank?

We are wondering if our fish are breeding better in our DT, which is similar to their natural environment, or their own private tank with a small amount of LR????
 
My experience with the opaque (milky colored eggs) was that they had died or were infertile. I usually get them away from the fertile eggs as soon as I can as I don't want to introduce anything to the fertile ones....bacteria from deterioration or the like. I didn't read the whole thread, but I will this evening.....are these being tumbled? from my experience if I tumbled too hard I would wind up with higher casualties with the eggs. Subscribing to this thread as the cooler weather has approached and I will have time to work with my two pairs.
 
I tried to separate the opaque colored eggs yesterday but they seemed to be connected together. I can only remove the ones that had separated from the cluster.
The eggs are slightly dancing. Not actually tumbling.
