I am about to introduce 3 fishes to my 170 reef tank. It has so far 3 fishes. 1 tailspot blenny 1 salaria and 1 chevron tang.

What do you think ?

Yellow coris wrasse (Helichoeres chorasse)
Radiant wrasse (Helichoeres irídis)
Cirrhilabrus rubriventralis or Cirrhilabrus Aurantidorsalis ?

Thanks

I have a 55g tank. With Large HOB refugium/skimmer. Lighting is 4 54w t5s. 2 daylight and 2 actinic. i have a 1300gph powerhead and a 750gph head(750 recently shut off, too much flow for hammer corals.)

Livestock:
yellow tang
2 clowns
1 emerald crab
5 red leg hermits
1 blue leg hermit
1 banded serpant sea star
5(probably more) of the small dime size star fish

Coral:
Green candy cane
green finger leather
purple star polyp
green star polyp
Kenya tree
green zoes
palys
pulsing xenia
waving hand xenia
2 diff types of hammer
and 1 hard coral idk what it is

I was looking to get a mandarin goby. I know they feed off of pods mostly, my tank has thousands of munnid isopods in the refugium aswell as my display, and recently have seen amphipods in refugium(all pods just appeared...hitchhikers).

another fish i was interested in was the sixline wrasse, as i have many tube worms.

I think the lunar wrasse is really cool too

please let me know what u think.

thanks

Can an Imperator angel and queen angel (both about 3-4") be placed in an aquarium together? (over 300gal) I know they will have some squabbles, but i want to know if just like tangs, place them in the same time and give them space.

Those are both tough fish. Iffy in my opinion in the long run unless this is a 10 foot tank. Better odds when they are juvenile/small

Those should be fine

Your tank may be ok at about 8 months for a mandarin but not with a sixline

How long do i need to wait for the sixline? and whatdo u think about a lunar wrasse?

A sixline wrasse is aggressive and will limit your options going forward; I do not recommend. A lunar wrasse needs a much larger tank and is aggressive; I do not recommend. Especially in your sized tank.

yes it is. do u have any recommendations for me? beautiful fish that arent $150? lol i am married with 2 kids so i am kinda short on money. And i am obsessed with corals!

I do not provide recommendations for a variety of reasons; however you might look at possum wrasses.

Hey guys! Never saw this thread before, fairly new to the site...again lol. I have been inactive for a few years but am doing my best at making a big comeback!

ANYWAYS...

I currently have a 30g running a Fluval 405 canister...I have about 30-40lbs of LR and I have had the setup for about 7 years now. My current stock is...

1 percula clown
15 nassarius snails
2 cortez snails
1 astrea snail
1 emerald crab.

I have been working hard to get my tank all clean and setup and I am finally ready to start transforming into a beauty again after slacking on maintance for a very long time (my college career.) I am asking for an opinion on adding a Flame Angel, and if that would be a decent add. Any other fish/invert suggestions would be great. I am also considering turning this tank into a reef, so if some basic but eyecatching coral suggestions are out there please share those too!

Thanks!

It is a bit different than other threads in that it is not a discussion thread and is answered only by Reef Central Staff. As such, it is in effect, an "expert thread"

Assuming you have sufficient algae (it is a grazer) you should be fine.

Any other fish/invert suggestions would be great.

We don't really provide suggestions for a variety of reasons but would be happy to provide commentary on any stocking list you provide

I am also considering turning this tank into a reef, so if some basic but eyecatching coral suggestions are out there please share those too!

Dwarf angels are risky in reefs especially with meaty LPS corals.

Thanks!

I understand, so I should provide a definitive list/certain fish to have feedback given on, sorry about that.

Given the same setup, would 1 or possibly two cleaner shrimp be possible in my tank as well?

Had RSM 34 gallon semi reef for 5 yrs. Got tired of the tight quarters in the RSM rear and fragging corals scares this Grandma! So I sold the RSM and set up a 20g FOWLR. 20G has been up and running about 2 yrs.

Yasha Haza Goby and his Tiger Pistol Shrimp pal from my RSM (my babies!)

Fire Fish Goby (added since the 20g was set up)

2 True Percs (decided gender and paired up about 3 months ago)

About a month ago the Pistol tunneled into the Fire Fish's 'home' resulting in both Gobies and the Pistol shrimp living together only at the right end of the tunnel under a big piece of LR. They all get along.....no fighting!

Question.....I'm upgrading to 40g breeder soon. Would appreciate suggestions on the Fire Fish's living arrangement? Will the Fire Fish turn on Yaz? Should I remove the fire fish. Perfect time would be when I upgrade. I do plan to add maybe 2 more fish. Not sure what yet.

Thank you much!

Hello everyone, I started a new aquarium on the 15th of May. It's a 20gal 30x12. 38lb live rock and 40lb live sand. One Koralia 550 head, Fluval E 50 heater. The skimmer AquaticLife Internal Mini is arriving tomorrow, so it still has a Marineland hang on filter without media. Lighting is Marineland Reef capable 24"-36" LCD.

I would Like to add the following spices:
Snails: 2 turbo, 4 nassarius/
Sea urchin: 1 tuxido
Zoa's: 3 different types
Clam: 1 maxi

I have attached a spreadsheet with the my water since I started the aquarium. It looks like the algae are starting to grow, both cyano and green. Pics attached. I also see bubbles forming on the rocks. The tank has been fed with fish food once a day in order to speedup the nitrogen cycle.

I have a 90 gallon fowlr, sump, and skimmer. I currently have 2 Striped Damsels, 1 Clown Fish, 1 Porcupine Puffer, 1 Dogface Puffer, and 1 Diamond Gobie. I wanted to know if these fish get along and will be ok in my tank?

I understand, so I should provide a definitive list/certain fish to have feedback given on, sorry about that.

No problem but the list can be revised and resubmitted as often as desired

Given the same setup, would 1 or possibly two cleaner shrimp be possible in my tank as well?

Sure, no problem. But remember that some fish will not allow themselves to be cleaned and cleaner shrimp do not really have an effect on parasites.
