This fish list is for a 180 gallon mixed reef. Filtration, 180-200lbs of LR, 80-100lbs of sand, ATS, and a SRO-XP2000I skimmer. Is this the order you would suggest adding? I know mandarins need a mature tank, so it will be added after there are pods crawling out of the tank.

2x Ocellaris Clowns
5x Resplendent Anthias or Carberryi Anthias (not sure which one)
3x Chalk Bass
3x McCosker's Flasher
1x Green Mandarin
1x Starki Damsel
1x Fiji Blue Devil Damsel
1x Yellow Tailed Blue Damsel

FOWLR

I have a 180g rr with a 40B sump. Filtration will be 160-180 lbs of live rock and 1-2 inches of sand in the display. Going for an open look. I will have some macroalgae in the display that the fish will eat like Ulva. The sump will house the 2 heaters, skimmer Warner Marine MF201, and BRS Dual reactors. I most likely will put additional rock in the sump depeding on how much is workable in the display.

The fish list:

2 Occelaris Clowns (already have in a 75g hospital/quarantine)
1 yellow tang aggressive, must be added last
1 dogface puffer very aggressive
1 blue throat or sargassum trigger aggressive

Additional fish possibilities (looking to add one or more of the below fish):

1 powder blue tang
1 flame angel
1 mystery wrasse
1 bicolor goatfish large fish, but great sand cleaner
1 more blue throat or sargassum trigger

Thanks in advance.

You have a lot of largish aggressive fish and I am reluctant to say the mix will work especially in a relatively small tank (for this level of active largish fish)

Thinking about the following

Orchid dottyback or purple dottyback dottybacks are aggressive, especially in small tanks so I would not recommend either although P. fridmani is the less aggressive of the two

both are excellent although I prefer the coloration of the carberryi although that is just a personal preference

1x Starki Damsel all damsels are aggressive and I do NOT recommend them
1x Fiji Blue Devil Damsel

I have looked at the carrberryi and like it, do they look better than the picture on LiveAquaria in person? Is there any blue colored fish that you would recommend aside from damsels? Looking for them to be small in size, 3-4" if possible. Also, the family wants me to get a firefish or two, do I have room or not? Thanks for your help!

I want a Diamond Sleeper Goby, but am concerned of their tendency to bury sand dwellers like my Maxima Clam.... I was looking for suggestions for an equally cool sand sifting creature which easily eats regular frozen fare and is not such a pain.

I have a 90 mixed reef. About 70 Lbs LR in display and another 30 lbs in the sump with a DSP in the sump (Only 1 month old as I just rebuilt my sump). The entire system is just over 6 months old.

Fish list: Oc. Clown, 4 bg chomis, neon dottyback, yellow coris wrasse, melanurus wrasse;

Inverts: Maxima Clam (6-7inch), emerald crab 1.5inch, Skunk Cleaner 2.5 Inch, Astrias, Turbos, Nassarius and blue and red legs;

Corals: 2 colonies of multi colored zoas, green star polyps, purple/green mushrooms, Frog spawn, Toad Stool, maze brain, red monti caps, purple gorgonian, palm tree polyps, 2 species of tabling acros, and 3 species of branching acros;

Lighting: Sunlight supply Maristar 2x250 MH with Phoenix 14k and 2 24w actinics.; Flow: Little Giant return(Don't know off hand GPH), 2 loclines and 2x RIO SIEO 1100s with controller. I also run ATO with a BRS 5 stage RO/DI with reserve fresh and salt.

My sump, I designed custom so that the rubble LR (30lbs) sits on egg crate about 2 inches above the 4 inch DSB to maximize surface area of the rubble rock and prevent detritus build up in the sump.

Lastly, I would like to add another oc. clown as I initially intended to have two. With a tank this size and the minimal LR in the DT, do you think there would be a problem adding another one of similar size?

Thanks,

Dan

In my opinion, yes. Both species are excellent however

If you subtract damsels from the equation, and do the firefish first (two would require a male + female).

Sleeper gobies in general create sand storms, sand sifters do not really keep your sand clean, that is a bit of a myth. Look at fighting conchs, nasarius snails, etc.

The chromis will likely end up as one or two, the neon dottyback is a terror from an aggression perspective

careful, hungry emerald crabs can take fish

adding a clown to an existing clown requires adding a smaller one or they may be killed. Preferably much smaller

Dan

125 gallon with 40 gallon sump reef

1 Purple Tang (Zebrasoma xanthurum)
1 Coral Beauty Angelfish (Centropyge bispinosa)
1 Yellow Prawn Goby (Cryptocentrus cinctus)
2 Firefish, Purple (Nemateleotris decora)
2 ORA® Premium Snowflake Ocellaris Clownfish (Amphiprion ocellaris ) pair
2 Green Mandarin (Synchiropus splendidus) pair
1 Royal Gramma Basslet (Gramma loreto)
1 Jawfish, Blue Dot (Opistognathus rosenblatti)

1 Purple Tang (Zebrasoma xanthurum)
1 Coral Beauty Angelfish (Centropyge bispinosa)
1 Yellow Prawn Goby (Cryptocentrus cinctus)
2 Firefish, Purple (Nemateleotris decora) needs to be a male + female for long term success
2 ORA® Premium Snowflake Ocellaris Clownfish (Amphiprion ocellaris ) pair
2 Green Mandarin (Synchiropus splendidus) pair should be a mature tank, M + F necessary
1 Royal Gramma Basslet (Gramma loreto)
1 Jawfish, Blue Dot (Opistognathus rosenblatti) prefers cooler temperature water

Was there a specific question?

Just wanted to see if these will work together?

Jawfish, Yellowhead (Opistognathus aurifrons) instead of the blue dot?

Can I add a Bicolor Angelfish (Centropyge bicolor)? I was told it would work. Are there any other Dwarf fish that I can add? I would like to know my options if I decide against the Bicolor.

29 Gallon standard tank. 25 lbs LR. 40 lbs LS. No sump/skimmer. Running chemipure elite. Bi-weekly water changes of 10-20%. No stock yet since I am just nearing end of cycle. Intended Purchases besides CUC:
1 Clownfish (Snowflake or Picasso)
1 Flame Angel
1 Royal Gramma or 1 Purple Firefish
1 Clown Goby or 1 Lawnmower Blenny

If these would be suitable, which order would you add them?Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Much easier

Bicolor is more difficult and less reef safe; other dwarf angels would work, however. None are totally reef safe, however.

Least aggressive first (in your case, firefish), most aggressive last (in your case flame angel)

I have a 120 gal mixed reef. I currently have the following livestock:
Flame Hawkfish
Mystery Wrasse
2 clowns
Mandarin Goby
2 bar gobies
2 serpent starfish
and various snails and hermits.

I would like to add:
1 leapard wrasse
1 lyretail hogfish
1 midas blenny (I know I can add this fish because I had one in the tank before).

Do you think I can safely add the other fish?

Well funny you say about the Chromis... those started out as 8... these gues have stuck around for the longest.... the dotty back pretty much leaves them alone. He gets after the melanurus a bit, because he is newer, but the has even died down substantially. The Goby, I want more for appeal than taking care of the sand. I had some garbage Aqueon 1250s before the Sieo 1100s with the variable flow controller and that has really cleaned up the sand. I have considered another similally cool fish (Blue Spot Jaw Fish), but I am really skittish about buying a $100+ fish. I have already come to the determination that I will not be able to have any stress prone fish (tangs, Etc) due to the dottyback, nuless I want to fins another home for hime... but he is super cool. Anyways... thanks for your input!!

I only have a 14 gallon tank (eclipse i think).
I don't think i have a protein skimmer; i have live rock and a bio filter.
I have no corals currently (the lighting isn't bright enough).
I've had an ocellaris clownfish there for about half a year or so. Anyways, i'm thinking about adding:
-A turbo snail
-A Randall's Shrimp Goby
-A neon goby
-Mushroom Corals (I hear they do okay with lower lighting systems?)

Is this overstepping? Will my Ocellaris clownfish have issues with any of these fish?(I plan to take the clownfish temporarily out, rearrange the rocks/decorations and acclimate the new fish for a few hours before letting the clownfish back in.)

Any thoughts will be appreciated :D
