I have a 120 gal mixed reef. I currently have the following livestock:
Flame Hawkfish
Mystery Wrasse may become a problem for the mandarin (which is not a goby, but a dragonet)
2 clowns
Mandarin Goby
2 bar gobies
2 serpent starfish
and various snails and hermits.

I would like to add:
1 leapard wrasse will be an issue with the mandarin
1 lyretail hogfish
1 midas blenny (I know I can add this fish because I had one in the tank before).

Do you think I can safely add the other fish?

Well funny you say about the Chromis... those started out as 8... these gues have stuck around for the longest.... the dotty back pretty much leaves them alone. He gets after the melanurus a bit, because he is newer, but the has even died down substantially. The Goby, I want more for appeal than taking care of the sand. I had some garbage Aqueon 1250s before the Sieo 1100s with the variable flow controller and that has really cleaned up the sand. I have considered another similally cool fish (Blue Spot Jaw Fish), but I am really skittish about buying a $100+ fish. I have already come to the determination that I will not be able to have any stress prone fish (tangs, Etc) due to the dottyback, nuless I want to fins another home for hime... but he is super cool. Anyways... thanks for your input!!

You are welcome. Blue spot jawfish really need cooler water temps. The chromis may winnow down further over time

I only have a 14 gallon tank (eclipse i think).
I don't think i have a protein skimmer; i have live rock and a bio filter.
I have no corals currently (the lighting isn't bright enough).
I've had an ocellaris clownfish there for about half a year or so. Anyways, i'm thinking about adding:
-A turbo snail
-A Randall's Shrimp Goby
-A neon goby
-Mushroom Corals (I hear they do okay with lower lighting systems?)

Is this overstepping? Will my Ocellaris clownfish have issues with any of these fish?(I plan to take the clownfish temporarily out, rearrange the rocks/decorations and acclimate the new fish for a few hours before letting the clownfish back in.)

Any thoughts will be appreciated :D

should be no problem

snorvich, thanks for the information, but could you be more specific? Do you think the leapard wrasse will be a problem with the mandarin dragnet because they both compete for the same food source (copapods) or because of aggression issues?

Do you have the same concern with the leapard wrasse and the mystery wrasse?

Both. I keep leopards in the kitchen and cannot keep a mandarin (240 gallon tank) and I have a mating pair mandarins in the family room (350 gallon tank) and do not keep leopards or similar

Do you have the same concern with the leapard wrasse and the mystery wrasse?

Mystery wrasses can be mean fish especially towards fish that are copepod competitors

Lol sorry to post another thought: But could I switch the neon goby with a firefish?

I've kinda heard a few horror stories about Clownfish bullying firefish...

29 gallon tank. 25 lbs LR, 40 lbs LS. No skimmer/sump. Frequent water changes, chemipure elite in HOB filter.

Nothing in tank currently besides CUC.

Would a fumanchu lion be an option with ANY tankmate? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Current
37 gallon mixed reef with live rock established 3 years. I use a Fluval 405 with a Hydor 750 Pump and a Hydor Slim Skim Protein Skimmer
fish: 1 Ocellaris Clownfish and 1 black & white clown
Shrimp: 1 fire shrimp, 2 or 3 peppermint shrimp to control aptasia
crabs: 2 hermit crabs
Snails: various types, none of which last long

Would like to add:
1 Sailfin/Algae Blenny or something to eat algae that won't eat coral
3 Blue/Green Reef Chromis (Chromis viridis) OR 3 Blue Reef Chromis (Chromis cyaneus)

Thanks for your advice!

Kara

If it would be appropriate to a 29 gallon tank, the lionfish would eat it.

You could try the 3 chromis but it would be likely they would become one or two.

120 gallon 72" x 16" x 24" FOWLR (100 lbs live rock + protein skimmer in 20g sump)

Current fish:

Royal Gramma
Whipfin Flashing Wrasse
McCosker Flashing Wrasse
Pajama Cardinal
Coral Beauty
(all under 2")

Desired additions:

Punctato Butterfly
Pearlscale Butterfly
Pakistan Butterfly
Orangeback Fairy Wrasse
Ocellaris Clown
Bangaii Cardinal
Wheeler Goby

35g tank 36x12.5x18, cycling right now (newly established). My idea is to eventually get LPS and maybe a clam, but that's far in the future. I'll establish a clean-up crew of mostly snails (I'm worried about hermits eating snails) and a skunk cleaner.

Are these good for a peaceful reef tank? Not adding all at once, of course, but over a few months. I plan to add them in the order they are listed - tell me as well if that's a bad idea.

Fishes:
2 Ocellaris Clowns
2 Blue Chromis
1 yellow clown goby
1-2 firefish

I no behavioral problems but butterfly fish very often come in with parasites so you had best have an excellent quarantine protocol similar to the one in my blog

Fishes:
2 Ocellaris Clowns Once sexually mature, clownfish (even A. ocellaris) become aggressive especially in a small tank
2 Blue Chromis
1 yellow clown goby
1-2 firefish must be a male + female

30g reef, 30bs LR...2in LS...CUC with a coral banded shrimp...fish I have currently are a 7 year old percula clown, and a Banghaii cardinal i got about 2 weeks ago.

Could I do the following?

Royal Gramma and
Lubbocks Fairy Wrasse and/or green clown goby

That would be a fully stocked list

Snorvich, do you mean keep just one clown, or no clowns, or add them later on (as opposed to first)?

a single clown will become a female at which point she will be aggressive. It is simply difficult for long term success keeping clowns in small tanks with other fish. I am not saying not to do it, just telling you the consequences.

Quick question. Would a royal blue tang and a scopas tang be okay together in a 90gal with over 30 gal sump? I know you can keep certain tangs together when they only dislike other tangs with similar body types etc.
Thanks.

No. Both need larger tanks individually let alone together.
