As long as you feed multiple times per day, 3 carberryi anthias should do fine.
Thank you Snorvich. You always give good advice

Hey All,
Long time lurker, first time poster. I've just started cycling my biocube 29 and now researching future purchases. Are these fish/corals compatible? Is it possible to put another fish in or is this too high a bioload?
Pair of Clowns,
Yellow watchmen Goby
Pistol shrimp
Pulsing Xenia,
Frogspawn
Finalizing my stock and want to make sure everything will be okay.
Current Stock:
Royal Gramma
Yellow Wrasse
2 Clowns
Black Comb Tooth Blenny
Diamond Goby
Pin Cushion Urchin
Looking To Add:
Cleaner Shrimp Pair
Kole Tang
Purple Fire Fish(Ideally would like to get a mated pair but not counting on it so just 1) a pair is unlikely
Heniochus (I know live aquaria says 125, but I'm just in love with them)
I would not do the Heniochus as they deserve a larger tank but otherwise fine.

I currently have a pair of juvenile tank bred occelaris clown fish and a skunk cleaner shrimp. Some other fish I plan on adding are
-lawnmower Benny
-some form of goby
-royal grammer
-six line wrasse fine except the six line wrasse which is very aggressive and can be a PITA
One last question, as I've talked to my LFS and they rarely have carberryi anthias but have Bartlett's and lyretails.
-> Would 3 Bartlett's or lyretails work in this tank or should I limit it to just 1?
90g tank, 48x18x24. This is a mixed reef with SPS/LPS/softies and a clam.
Inhabitants:
kole yellow eye tang
pair of ocellaris clowns
McCosker's wrassse
Lubbock's fairy wrasse
yellow coris wrasse
tailspot blenny
yellow watchman/tiger pistol pair
2 cleaner shrimp
I finally purchased a 150 gallon (60"x24"x24") aquarium after debating for several months. My equipment includes: Reef Octopus Regal 170SSS Protein Skimmer, 2 mp40's, 3 radion pro's, carbon and GFO reactors, refugium, 29 gallon quarantine, etc... I have 220 lbs of live rock (not sure I will use all of that) and I plan on ~ 3" sand bed. I'm still about a month out before I even add water.
My dream list would include:
Tail Spot Blenny
Royal Gramma
Blue Neon Cleaner Goby (Pair)
Yasha Goby (Pair)
True Percula Clownfish (Pair)
Blue Spotted Jawfish (Pair)
Regal Angelfish
Moorish Idol
Copperband Butterflyfish
Exquisite Fairy Wrasse
Hawaiian Flame Fairy Wrasse
Lineatus Fairy Wrasse
Leopard Wrasse
Powder Blue Tang
Purple Tang
Blue Mandarin Dragonet (Pair)
I will confine my analysis to your "realisitic" list![]()
However, realistically my stocking list will include:
Tail Spot Blenny
Royal Gramma
Blue Neon Cleaner Goby (Pair) short lived (1.5 to two years, two only if bonded pair
Yasha Goby (Pair)
True Percula Clownfish (Pair)
Pearly Jawfish (Trio)
Lyretail Anthias
Potter's Angelfish
Yellow Longnose Butterflyfish
Exquisite Fairy Wrasse
Hawaiian Flame Fairy Wrasse
Lineatus Fairy Wrasse
Hoeven's Wrasse
Powder Blue Tang
Purple Tang
Blue Mandarin Dragonet (Pair) you have too many copepod eaters to sustain two mandarins
Do you see any issues here?
I've read all about how chromis kept in groups will eventually kill each other off until only one remains... I'm wondering if chances of keeping two different types - say one blue and one green - are any better than keeping a group of the same type. Tank is 75g.
Neon Velvet Damsel at .75-1" in size in a 29g with the intent to get a larger tank in a few years.
Or do they grow to full size too fast for that?
I am completely new to the Reefing game, but have done my best to do my homework, but still would love others ideas, opinions etc on how to better my set-up. Here are my tank specs. The system has been up and running since April 15th of this year.
40Gal Tall tank with 8 Gallon Sump and 4.5 Gallon refugium. I purchased a sump without a refugium and was looking at 200 for a sump/refugium that would fit in my very tight stand. Instead I found a Hang on back CPR refugium on Craigslist for 30 dollars. So that is currently hanging on the front of my sump. that works right? Overflow runs through carbon pad, Octopus Skimmer rated for 120 gallons, and UV Sterilizer.
UV sterilzers are excellent water purifiers, but have no effect on parasites; you will still need a quarantine protocol
LEDS on the DT and refuge. Two Aqueon powerheads (950gph, 1250gph) in the DT, and a 1200 gph Maxijet return pump in the sump. There is also an additional powerhead in the sump.
The DT has about 40 pounds of live rock and a 2 inch sand bed. The refugium has a 3 inch sand bed, cheato, rubble rock, along with 3 red leg hermits.
So currently in the tank I have about 20 assorted snails, a dozen Blue leg hermits, and an emerald crab.
hermits over time will kill snails; emerald crabs when large can take fish
I just finished stocking the coral, which I chose to do first (before the fish). In the tank I have two large zoa colonies, duncans, bubble coral, pulsating Xenia will take over your tank, I advise against , Devils hand, Green Star polyps, Kenya Tree will take over your tank, I advise against , Open Brain coral, Bi-colored frogspawn, Hammer coral, mushrooms, acans, Big Green Hairy Mushrooms if they are rhodactis they can take fish , candy canes, and kryptonite candy canes. I strongly suggest you slow down
Doing an 8 Gallon water change every 30 days with catalina ocean water. acquired how?
I bought a firefish 7 days ago, and tonight I got the six-line wrasse. six line wrasses are very aggressive and will limit tank mates; I advise against, especially in this sized tank
Everything is growing at an exciting rate, so I am ready to begin stocking the livestock, here is my idea.
Firefish (possibly two, 1 purple, 1 regular) (regular is already in the tank)
Diamond Goby
Six-line Wrasse ( already in the tank)
Pair of clowns (one Black, one True Perc.)
Hawkfish not shrimp safe and depending on species, not small fish safe
Dwarf Flame Angel not coral safe and needs a larger tank
Red Tile Starfish will starve in this sized tank
Cleaner shrimp
I feel as if all of this would be overstocking, so maybe some suggestions as to what would work well in the system together would be great, as well as the order in which you would put the livestock into the system.
Sorry for the novel, but I've been waiting patiently and this is exciting stuff! which is great, but slow down
Thanks!
very aggressive so you will be unable to add other fish
But will it be OK in a 29g tetra and how long do you think I have before needing a bigger tank? I've tried to find the growth rate without any success.
