Standard 75g w/20g sump. LPS and P&Z's. Current inhabitants consist of:
(2) Black & White Ocellaris Clownfish - (Amphiprion ocellaris var.)
(1) Flame Angelfish (Centropyge loricula)
(1) Flame Hawkfish (Neocirrhites armatus)
(1) Dispar Anthias (Pseudanthias dispar)
(1) Mystery Wrasse (Pseudocheilinus ocellatus)
and various snail for cuc.

I would like to add (1) Hoeven's Wrasse (Halichoeres melanurus). In the past I had asked about different wrasses and you said Fairy and Flasher were not a good idea with the Mystery wrasse. Will the Melanurus be a suitable choice?

Many thanks.

Halichoeres melanurus is a very peaceful wrasse. Mystery wrasses can be aggressive. It is somewhat a roll of the dice.

Hi Steve

I would like to have 3 angels three of these dwarf angels would work in your sized tank. However, with 2 foxface (which will probably not work unless you have a bonded pair), and multiple tangs, despite a largish tank, you have too many algae grazers; I would be concerned because of that.

Yet another stock list plan for my 90 gallon reef setup. But seeing as a basement remodle is delaying the tank, I have more time to reconcider my stock list it, it keeps on changing...

Venustus Angelfish
Pair of flame wrasse
Lineatus wrasse
Pintail wrasse (or maybe another fairy wrasse if I cant find a good one)
2 sunburst anthias
7 or so longspine cardinalfish
longnose butterflyfish
scooter blenny

Thanks Steve :)

55g
skimmer reef octopus hob
50 lbs liverock 5-10lbs base rock, 40 lbs live sand. cycled 0,0,10. sm hob with cheato /copepods . snail only cleaner crew. 2 powerheads. ac hob full of rubble.

Current fish:
5 damselfish (3 varieties)
1 royal gramma basslet (who rules the damselfish)
2 ocellaris clownfish
1 clown goby

would like to add either /or:
A wrasse or an Anthias pair:
Linespot flasher wrasse

Venustus Angelfish
Pair of flame wrasse best way is to get two females of differing size
Lineatus wrasse
Pintail wrasse (or maybe another fairy wrasse if I cant find a good one) Pintail are uncommon but available and are one of the more aggressive wrasses
2 sunburst anthias
7 or so longspine cardinalfish
longnose butterflyfish
scooter blenny

Generally ok

You have some very aggressive fish, especially in this sized tank. I highly doubt that you will be able to successfully add the ones below

would like to add either /or:
A wrasse or an Anthias pair:
Linespot flasher wrasse
possum wrasse
kuiter's Leopard wrasse
or
2 Resplendent Anthias

also, anthias need a larger tank, especially if more than one

Asking about additions to my 75 gallon mixed tank

Currently:
2 Occ. Clownfish
1 Barlett's Anthias
1 Flame Hawkfish
1 Yellow Fin Fairy Wrasse

Would like:
1 Lyretail Anthias
1 Six-line Wrasse (Would adding last have any effect on aggression?)
Another Wrasse (Possibly Male Solorensis?)
1 Kole Tang
Possibly a dwarf Angel; unsure because of the possibility of nipping. I would get a Coral Beauty Angel if I were to get one.

No dwarf angel is reef safe

Hello Steve,

I've been starting a plan to get in to the hobby again and I would like some comments on my fish list. I am thinking about getting a second hand 50-75g tank with or without a sump so I would also appreciate your views on how to determine the right bioload because I would rather go a little low on the bioload. My plan was to go for easy, small and peacefull community fish and the only one that might be aggressive would be the clown.

Ive arranged them in the order I would like to quaratine them in groups of 3. And they are more or less in the order of my priority list. Here goes:

1 Firefish
1 Purpule firefish
1 Scissortail Dartfish

1 Royal Gramma Basslet
1 Yellow Prawn Goby
1 Orange Stripe Prawn Goby

1 Clown Goby (Citrinis, Yellow, Green)
1 Tail Spot Blenny
1 Ocellaris Clownfish

1 Scarlet Skunk Cleaner Shrimp

Other interesting fish that might become current if I go bigger:
1 Blue/Green Reef Chromis
1 Neon Blue Goby
1 Kaudern's Cardinal

Thank you for your time.

Ive arranged them in the order I would like to quaratine them in groups of 3. And they are more or less in the order of my priority list. Here goes:

1 Firefish
1 Purpule firefish You will only be able to maintain one firefish over time as they are not compatible except as a bonded pair of the same species
1 Scissortail Dartfish

1 Royal Gramma Basslet
1 Yellow Prawn Goby
1 Orange Stripe Prawn Goby

1 Clown Goby (Citrinis, Yellow, Green)
1 Tail Spot Blenny
1 Ocellaris Clownfish

1 Scarlet Skunk Cleaner Shrimp

This plan would work except as annotated

Other interesting fish that might become current if I go bigger:
1 Blue/Green Reef Chromis
1 Neon Blue Goby While they are relatively short lived, they are excellent
1 Kaudern's Cardinal

these would be fine at the 75 gallon tank size range

Thank you for your time. always a pleasure

Hi Steve, I have a question about stocking my one month old 75 gal DT with 55 gal sump. Overall 100 g of water. I have no corals yet but I am planning on slowly adding some softies and LPS.

1 x Cleaner shrimp
2 x True Percula Clown Fish
3 or(5) x Yellow Tail Damsels
1 x Watchman Goby with Pistol Shrimp
1 x Imperor Angel fish
1 x Green Mandarin (after 9 month)

Thank you, your help is always appreciated.

2 x True Percula Clown Fish
3 or(5) x Yellow Tail Damsels highly aggressive, will make it difficult for other tank mates
1 x Watchman Goby with Pistol Shrimp
1 x Imperor Angel fish needs a much larger tank and they are not coral safe
1 x Green Mandarin (after 9 month)

Thank you, your help is always appreciated.

always a pleasure

Any Tangs? Maybe Yellow Tang? or Fox face? Angel fishes like Coral Beauty and Flameback Angel?

When re-asking a question, Please provide total stocking plan and tank size since I cannot easily go backwards and I will never remember a given person's plan. No angelfish are reef safe.

This thread is answered only by Reef Central Staff; if you want general opinions, please post in Reef Fish

"¢ 2 dwarf golden moray eels
"¢ 5 green chromis will become one over time; be sure to quarantine because they are highly susceptible to uronema marinum
"¢ 1 blue tang Needs a larger (longer) tank;
"¢ 1 yellow tang
"¢ 1 purple tang
"¢ 1 mandarin goby not compatible with a mystery wrasse
"¢ 1 yasha hasi goby with pistol shrimp
"¢ 2 clown fish with red bubble tip anemone species?
"¢ 1 mystery wrass
"¢ 1 long nose hawk fish
"¢ 1 magnificent foxface
"¢ 1 blue spotted puffer
"¢ 3-4 anthias do best with multiple feedings per day
"¢ 2 Helfrich firefish Unless bonded, only a single will be viable long term

Thanks!

how much more could I fit? If possible I would want to add a cheveron tang, and potters angel. Why is the manderin not compatible with the mystery wrass?
