Hi Steve...

i am planning on restocking my 75gal mixed reef after the damsels that were a gift from my kids won the war on everything else in the tank. they have since been donated to my LFS and would like to start restocking. i would appreciate your feedback and also if you could list the order of introduction that would be best.

Pair of Clarkii to hopefully reside in my rainbow bta
Citron clown goby
Royal Gramma
Chalk Bass
Orangespot Goby/pistol pair
Tailspot / Bicolor / Midas Blenny - more than 1 or will they fight?
Flasher / Fairy wrasse
Kole Tang

You provide a great service..thank you.

Small clownfish probably percula species make a difference; an aggressive clownfish will need the entire tank
Dwarf flame angel needs a larger tank
And possibly flasher wrasse needs a larger tank

Thinking of a Powder Blue Tang...

Thinking of a Powder Blue Tang...

I'm considering getting a Powder Blue Tang for my tank but I'm extremely leary of tangs in general since a Yellow Eye Kole Tang about wiped out my tank with ick a couple years back. My signature if current with all of the pertinent information about my tank.

While not part of this thread, it would depend on your quarantine protocol. If adequate, no parasites, if not, they will be a factor. That being said, a PBT is a very active fish and may be ok in your tank if you have no other algae grazers.

Steve, I have a 180 that I started from completely dry materials (Rock and Sand.) Tank was filled in August, and I have TT'd all current fish for 17 days (4 Transfers after the initial tank.) The tank will be SPS and Clam dominated, (No corals at this time fish only.)

Currently the fish I have in the tank are as follows.

Bonded pair of yellow Corris wrasses.
Royal Gramma
Clown Goby
Maroon Clown
Male and female Lyre tail Anthias.
Sailfin tang

For my question, I want to add two more pairs of wrasses (Fairy and leopard), as well as 3 more tangs, (Blonde Naso, Regal tang, and last Powder blue.)

Any do's, don'ts, tips, or tricks?

Thanks in advance for all you do!

You might be able to get away with a powder blue tang but the other ones require a much larger tank. The leopard wrasses may be difficult unless fed multiple times per day with supplied food.

Any do's, don'ts, tips, or tricks?

Thanks in advance for all you do!

A. percula and A. ocellaris are least aggressive. See this.

Snorvich, I bought a swallowtail recently and she developed ich, luckily I quarantined her. I started treating with Kordon ich attack and a uv sterilizer because it worked on our blue tang. I don't think it's working in this case though, her fins have started deteriorating. I did a 20% water change to bring down my nitrates which were at 30 PPM's. What do you think is the best route for me to take now? Should I use Cupramine to treat for ich? What should I do for the fin rot?

This thread is only about marine fish compatibility. I do not answer fish disease/parasite questions in this thread. Try this forum.
