Standard 180 Gallon, 40 Gallon Sump with Fuge.

Will these all work:

Swallowtail Angel
Tomini Tang
Power Brown Tang
Blue Sided Wrasse
Flasher Wrasse
Sleeper Banded Goby will probably not work long term
Royal Gramma
1 Perc Clownfish
2x Blue/Green Chromis may become one over time; be very careful about chromis as they are highly susceptible to uronema marinum

First, thank you for providing this info. I've been researching options and you have pointed out stuff in others post i didn't know.

ok, here we go

tank: 30G rimless/topless (jbj all in one)
1.5 inch live sand bed
35'ish pounds cured live rock
tunze 9004 protein skimmer
media reactor, media basket
plan for the tank is a mixed reef with softies and LPS, way down the road when I know my param's are solid I would like a few SPS pieces.

here is what i came up with

shrimp: skunk & peppermint
Clowns pair of ocellaris or percula hopefully mated with bubble tip anenome
midas blenny
orange spotted goby
royal gramma

again, appreciate the feedback

That plan would work. A Midas blenny may nip the fins of fish that feed from the water column.

In a 125 DT. I am thinking

1 one spot foxface
1 red saddle clown aka fire clown
2 dominos

I know the damsels can be aggressive and the fox face should hold his own easy?

Also any good medium sized adults that would be decent in a attitude type tank?

Standard 180 Gallon, 75 Gallon Sump with 25 of it being fuge. 200# LR, 1.5 inch live sand bed, ASM G2 Skimmer

Recently combined 2 tanks, the current inhabitants are all long term except the wrasse and are as follows:

5" Purple Tank
3" Elibi Angel
4" Splendid Dottyback
4" Yellow Coris Wrasse (Recent addition, the angel and him had a 1 day "issue" but all is well now)
2.5" Watchmen Goby
2.5" Ocellaris Clown (hosting in a 14" RBTA, 2 other nems: 6" RBTA & 3" Flower)
1.5" Yellowtail Damsel
4" Banded Coral shrimp
Short Spined Urchin

I would like to add a Flame Hawkfish and/or Lawnmower Blenny to complete but I'm a bit worried about the Pseudochromis and/or Angel or each other .... :).

Thoughts and recommendations ........... thanks in advance!

A foxface is not aggressive towards most fish; however it does best in a mature tank as it is an algae grazer. The damsels will limit tank mates going forward as will the clownfish once it is sexually mature.

4" Splendid Dottyback can be an aggressive PITA but your tank may be long enough

Hi Steve!
I hope you might give me a bit of advice (again).

I'm psyched. I just got a deal and I’m upgrading (in a few weeks) to a 60g shallow reef 48" x 24" x12". Will contain 55# of live rock, 1.5” aragonite bed, standard cuc. Tank has zoanths and will be mixed corals eventually. There will be no cover on it so I’m trying to avoid jumpers as best I can.

Current stock in my 40b is:
2 O. clowns
1 Reef chromie
1 Lawnmower blennie
1 cleaner shrimp
1 sand-sift star
2 bubble anems (was one, then it split and wandered), both hosting the clowns.

At transition to the 60 I plan on adding:
2 Fire shrimp
Possibly an emerald crab

I’d like to add:
1 clown goby
1 chalk bass
and/or longnose hawkfish

End goal, once I have a thriving pod population in a year or so, is to add a mandarin.

Thanks,
Mark

Thanks. The sifter star was purchased with assurances of the LFS (suprise) that it would be fine in my tank. I’ve called a friend who has a multitude of massive tanks and he’s going to give it a new home.

My son would love a star in the tank. Would any of these be a better choice than the others for the 60 reef with the above stock?

Indian Sea Star
Red Sea Star
Brittle Star (not green)
Serpent Star

Again my thanks,
Mark

A non green brittle star would work

I'm posting for a friend who has an 120 gallon tank with a canister.

Has 2 clowns already

Blue tang

Wants:

Foxface tang

Schooling fish ie. (Blue green Chromis, Blue eyed Cardinal or Anthias)

Dwarf Bi-color angel, Dwarf Coral Beauty, or. Dwarf Flame Angel,

Shrimps

Blue tang needs a much larger (longer) tank

Wants:

Foxface tang a foxface is not a tang but is an algae grazer similar to a tang so it occupiers the same ecological niche. Two algae grazers in this sized tank is pushing it

Schooling fish ie. (Blue green Chromis, Blue eyed Cardinal or Anthias) chromis won't work as they kill of the weakest and the other two will not school. They will loosely aggregate

Dwarf Bi-color angel, Dwarf Coral Beauty, or. Dwarf Flame Angel, another algae grazer

Shrimps

75 gallon mixed reef, 30 gallon sump/fuge, 6 line, mandarin, YWG/pistol, clown pair, Kole tang, various CUC. Are there any other fish that would go good with my tank or should this be the max for the size? Thank you.

A six line wrasse and mandarin will not coexist long term in a 75 gallon tank. Depending on the species of clownfish, which may limit tank mates, your bioload, would sustain a small fish or two.

30 G Nano can I add one more?

30 G Nano can I add one more?

Hi,

I have an established 30G tall (24"x12" footprint) with about 35lbs + of live rock, a HOB 3.5 gallon refugium, an internal skimmer and an Aquaclear 70 running Chemi-pure Blue (newly installed). Inhabitants: pistol shrimp with a watchman goby, six line wrasse, 2 baby clowns, 3 small BTA's. Cleanup crew: one blue legged hermit crab, one starfish of some sort (light purple colour), an emerald crab and an urchin. I think there may be one astrae snail that the crab hasn't killed yet...

Am I done or can I add one last fish? I'd love to add a coral beauty...and maybe a cleaner shrimp.

A cleaner shrimp should work, a dwarf angel will not. The six line wrasse will severely limit tank mates.
