Except for annotation, I think that would work. Be sure to get a Regal Angel that eats (Red Sea Endemic is the most likely) as they are difficult if not already eating.

I will take off the vroliks then, thank you so much!! Do you have any tips on how to get a red sea one? LA doesnt have any in stock, and DD posted a regal but I am not sure if its red sea..

I'll definitely follow that advice, thank you. What kind of water changes do you suggest? I use the instant ocean reef salt.

While outside the scope of this thread, I do 20% every other week.

Do you recommend any other kind of small fish that could be a good fit for this tank, such as a wrasse or something?

And about the tangs, would you say a third tang way in the future such as the naso would be pushing it too much?

A small tang might work out, but acclimation will be difficult with established tangs in the tank

Thanks a whole lot.

DD usually posts origin as many people seek out special colorations from a given location

20 long, no sump

20 long, no sump

I have a 20 gallon long tank with about 14lbs of live rock. I do not have a sump but I have an aquaclear 50 filter. I currently only have one true percula clown. I have a few snails (1 nessaria, 2 Mexican turbo). There is one other type that I have forgotten the name of. I am interested in adding more fish in the future but I am unsure of how many I can safely put in my tank. I do not want the (crap) to build up faster than it is being removed.

It is not possible to give you a "number" but you are probably able to add a small peaceful fish as long as it is not active.

How about reef safe bannerfish two of them
[quote name="Roman3310" post=23814218]Hello seems like you very knowledgeable with what fish can go together and how many fish you can put in your tank.. when I got into the hobby I jumped right in with no experience I bought myself a 180gallon tank . I've been in the hobby now for 2 years or so. I was reading some of these posts and made me very curious. I'm not sure if you need on my formation but I'll give it to you anyway. My lighting ATI 60" 8×80 . On on a 180 gallon tank. 2 MP 40 jebao WP 40 powerhead . 2 overflow boxes to 75 gallon sump .12000dc return pump in middle it also feeds my refugium (chaeto no sand) .Two filter socks & DC2 protein skimmer . On my display tank I got live rock & sand. <br />

How about reef safe bannerfish two of them The established tangs will not take kindly to adding these fish

Is there anything I could do to help the already got them .

That is why this thread is titled PLEASE check out your intended fish purchases here first! . . . Once you create a difficult situation, the options are few other than rehoming fish that won't allow additions.

Starting Brand New Tank

Starting Brand New Tank

Hello,
My name is Sean and I am brand new to both the marine aquarium hobby and reef central. I have a 40 gallon tank (36" x 18" X 17"), a API filstar XP- M canister filter, a 200 GPH marineland penguin filter, 3 hydor koralia 425 circulation pumps, a Lee's hang on protein skimmer, and a 36" current USA orbit led. I plan on keeping a peaceful community tank. My tank has been cycling for about a month with ~35 lbs live rock.

- 1 pair of clownfish
- 3 blue green chromis OR 3 pajama cardinal fish
- 1 shrimp goby/shrimp pair
- 1 firefish OR royal gramma

I plan to eventually grow some simple corals so I am trying to stay with reef safe fish. Thanks for all of your help.

90 gallon mixed reef
77 degrees
SG 1.025
Nitrites 0
Nitrates below 5
Ammonia 0
60lb live rock in tank, 10 in sump. Chaeto, miracle mud, skimmer rated for 200 gallon. Maxspect gyre 150.

Have:
chocolate clown
Snowflake clown
Bicolor blenny
Banner Cardinal x 3
Kole tang
Peppermint, fire, clear shrimp. Each x 1
Cuc of turban, nassarious snails, dwarf blue leg crabs

Want to add magnificent fox face. I think that will be it, but am I pushing limits of fish?

- 1 pair of clownfish
- 3 blue green chromis OR 3 pajama cardinal fish cardinals are preferred as chromis reduce over time
- 1 shrimp goby/shrimp pair
- 1 firefish OR royal gramma either would work

I plan to eventually grow some simple corals so I am trying to stay with reef safe fish. Thanks for all of your help.

The tang may make adding the fox face difficult; tank is marginal for two algae grazers with out supplying additional vegetable food

Thanks. I love feeding my fist and coral. I've been putting seaweed that I bought at lsf on a clip for the Cole tang already so planned on supplementing. What else would you feed? Blanched broccoli etc..?

What about adding a starfish such as the sand sifting starfish?

I am not able to go backwards in this thread. As such, in order to assess compatibility, I would need entire stocking list and tank size. That being said, sand sifting starfish starve to death after depleting beneficial organisms in the sand. NOT recommended.
