Hi, I just purchased a 125 gallon tank (6' long, 18" wide) with a Rena Filstar xP3 filter and I'm in the process of starting my first saltwater aquarium. It's going to be a FOWLR. I've been researching for quite some time but I still have a lot to learn. Please note that I am no where close to adding fish. These are just some ideas.
Rock Beauty Angel - (yes, I know they're very difficult to care for but I've been researching and planning for this fish for over a year now and I'm willing to give it a try.)
Your research is correct, they are very difficult or worse
Flame Angel
Copper-banded Butterfly another difficult fish, best odds are with one collected in Australia but probabilities are better with docile tank mates which you do not have on your plan
Ocellaris Clownfish
Bicolor Angel
Asfur Angel Two large angels in this sized tank will not work; large angels really need larger tanks
Queen Angel Two large angels in this sized tank will not work; large angels really need larger tanks
Threadfin Butterfly
Blue Tang needs a much larger tank, Reef central recommends an 8 foot long 240 gallon tank
Yellow Tang must be last fish, aggressive once established
Again, these are just some ideas so if my choice of fish is completely out of line, please tell me. I am set on having a Rock Beauty and a Copper-banded Butterfly but the rest of my choices are interchangeable. Do you have suggestions on what would go well with these two? as those who follow this thread know, I do not provide recommendations but I would be more than happy to reanalyze any stocking plan
I'm a huge fan of angelfish, I think they're beautiful and I'd really like to add some to my tank. I'd love to have angels like an Annularis or an Emperor but I'm afraid my tank is too small. large angels mix well only in very large tanks, ideally long onea
Thanks for your help!
