Pooky's 300

Mark the baller. I really need to catch up. My electric bills over the summer was hovering around $350 but that's b/c I also had the portable AC in the garage keeping things cool and that beast draws almost 1000 watts by itself.

:crazy1:

Yep, us furloughed state workers are ballers :lol2: Anyone want to buy some frags:twitch:

Yeah, I know it sucks. But things hopefully should be better soon. At least you get to keep playing with your sticks and fish :)

I sure hope so, I was looking over this months budget last weekend and its getting harder an harder to keep the tank running. Part of me has been doing all of this work to make sure things look good "just in case" ;)

OH wow 400+ power bill!!!!? I was stressing over my extra $80 a month I have to pay for power for my recently set- up 400g system. Good thing I'm in Washington Sate!!! HAHAHA we sell our power to you guys. My company just changed all our warehouse lighting from halides to T-5 and was 75% paid for by the power company because they said it will save us more on energy cost and they can have more energy to sell to California for a higher rice.

We have PG&E and SMUD up here. I only run my halides for 5 hours a day, but the two combined are anywhere from $300-$450 a month :sad1:

Quit all the whinning ... I've got you both beat with $500 plus! :blown:

The Giesemann fixtures have some really nice reflectors and I have been impressed with the spread and performance they give. Reflectors mean so much.
I've got the Giesemann Spectra w/ 2 x 250 MH and 4 x 54 T-5s. Good spread front to back but I get darker areas around the sides. Not much of a choice w/ a 60" tank if you want MH and a pendant, at least not that I could find.

Dan, you can squeeze in 3 LME reflectors easy. Add a couple of VHO front and back. Then baller status.

You all are crazy. I thought mine was bad @ $180 a month and that with 1200 watts of radiums. Most have lower rates in MI :D.

Yes, we are. Sometimes I wonder what we would do with all the money if we didn't have this money pit of a hobby :crazy1:

Yep, I have been debating a trip to hawaii every other month for awhile now

I get that thrown at me all the time by the hubby ... think of all the vacations we could go on and look at these fish in the actual ocean :crazy1:

Yeah, but you would have to go to a dozen different spots around the world to see all that's residing in your tank. And these locales ain't cheap to get to and stay at.

Anyways, vacations are overrated. Now I can see myself spending a few grand on some nice camera gear
